Adjustable drum clearance allows you to set the teeth distance for total control of your fiber. All nylon bearings ensure easy carding. The carding cloth has wire teeth with a special protective coating for long life. The carder has rubber feet to prevent it slipping. It comes assembled and lacquered for immediate use.
This new, improved model has two ratios for even more flexibility and control when carding and blending.
- Use the 6:1 ratio to prepare your fleece. The controlled intake and carding will produce a smooth even batt ready for blending, spinning or felting.
- Use the 4:1 ratio to blend sliver, colours and different fiber types consistently into an open and airy batt.

Very easy to assemble and use. Makes wider batting than others I've used. The bottom is open, so any debris can drop down instead of getting caught up in the carder. I used it to card out the wool from my sheep.

I have not physically used it yet, however it is more beautiful than pictures can tell. It is sturdy and honestly quite heavy compared to what you'd think. I've messes with all the pieces and it all moves smoothly and feels great. It arrived packaged in a thick sturdy box with a bit of Styrofoam, and hard pieces of "wood" to make sure everything stayed in place. None of the prongs are bent awkwardly and everything has a spot on the machine. It came with easy picture instructions (though some words should have a definition or arrow to indicate the part/piece for technical terms, but are completely unnecessary if you just follow the pictures) and 2 booklets to show off other products and what you can create. Very lovely!

I thought I needed to order two different carders for two very different fibers. So I did. I was contacted personally and explained that I only needed one. This company could have said nothing and accepted my $1200 order yet they looked out for my best interest and lost an order to assure I was getting what I needed no more no less. Any business of this nature I have of this kind in this future will ONLY go through this company that has a level of customer service I thought didn't exist anymore. 😀 As for the drum carder itself. The few parts I had to attach myself out was a piece of cake. The instructions were very well written. It works l like a dream and was worth every penny I spent on it. There will never be any regret in dealing with this company or making this purchase. You can't go wrong with these folks!

Arrived quickly, and is packaged very well. It's beautifully made and very securely packed. Came with a couple accessories (doffer and small carding brush that slides under the front lip for easy storage). A little assembly was needed (putting on the turn handle and the rubber "belt"), and I was ready to card. And I've loved how smoothly it turns, and how the batts come out. I've used dyed fleece with locks, and I've blended different pre-carded batts to make my own custom colors, and I'm thrilled with it! I definitely recommend this quality product.
