I was in need of drilling two large inset holes, with diameters of 3-1/2" and 4" and the ASNOMY Bits performed very well, in both soft and hard woods. They are reasonably priced and worked will for my needs.

This tool is made perfectly to dimensions and very sharp. Like other reviews... this bit should ALWAYS be used in a drill press. Anything else would not only be dangerous but end results would be less than perfect ( i.e. it would be difficult to hand hold it). I used the bit to cut shallow circles in 1/2" white oak for Christmas gift coasters. And even with a drill press, I needed to use clamps and hold-downs to keep everything perfectly in alignment. Great tool... just don't do anything foolish when using it!!

Used it once right after I purchased it. I always kept it stored in the original package in a storage cupboard. I went to use it again 3 months later and it would hardly work. Granted it was cherry wood, but it was so dull that it was bouncing all over the place, even using a drill press. I ended up using a different, smaller bit and sanding it out to the needed size. I was very disappointed that it was a 1 time usage kind of bit.

Excellent 8mm forstner bit, very sharp, cuts well and neatly. Does have a very large flat section on shank, which means clamping it in a standard chuck of a drill is a bit of a faff.
