Although I live "Down Under" (in Australia), delivery was reasonably quick and the seller was great to deal, whilst also offering excellent communication/support during the purchase process.With regards to the optical drive itself, this is not only the coolest-looking optical drive I've ever purchased, but also looks great and works flawlessly! During usage, the optical drive makes minimal noise, and seems to work just as well regardless of the orientation (you can lay this down flat, or stand it on its side using the included stand).I did find that the physical "eject" button can be a little difficult - it works, but sometimes you need to make quite a deliberate "push.Lastly, compatibility with Linux-based operating systems is 100% - I use this with Ubuntu and everything works perfectly...Highly recommended, particularly if you regularly use optical discs.

Best BluRay Reader/Player/Burner I've ever owned! Makes perfect BDs, DVDs and CDs! Fast and quiet! My newest PC Case does not have any bays for internal CD/DVD/CD devices. This proved to be a better solution that an internal burner/reader/player because of the additional features! I highly recommend this unit, especially over the "Lite" versions of this unit and the BW-12D1h-U units! Sweet!!!

I was looking for the Libredrive version, and got stuck with this. It works as a basic Blu-ray player. I ended up keeping it. I have a Mac, and the box specifically said it was compatible with Apple, and came with bundled software. Alas, the software only works with Windows. So, not too happy with falsely advertised product as being sold to the public. Plus, the ac plug in adapter came outside of the box loose in the Amazon shipping box; which leaves me to believe this product was not new.

The information on this drive (BW-16D1H-U PRO) is as scarce as you might imagine--nothing! even if you directly refer to ASUS official site. After many days of research, the only thing I found was a line on a Taiwanese site: "This product has been discontinued" --! As simple as that!-- no explanation, no reason, nothing! And that is why Asus does not offer any purchasing cart beside it! As a consumer who likes to evaluate an item before buying it, you'll find nothing much about this item but old pictures or videos (2012). I personally like the standing design which saves your workspace, unlike the similar Asus model (BW-16D1X-U) on which you'll find plenty of information. Nonetheless, I have to go with the other model (BW-16D1X-U) which is cheaper, without knowing which one has a better quality or specification for my purpose (mostly technical backup).

Good service. The first one that I ordered was the small one, but it didn't work correct. I could switch it with this one after paying a little extra and this one does what he is supposed to do. Happy!

I had a cheaper no name bluray player that kept spitting out the discs at random so I decided to buy a more reputable one and I'm happy I chose this one.I only received it today but tested it with both a bluray and dvd movie. Please keep in mind I already subscribe to cyberlink software that includes power dvd. They both played all the way through with no stutters and no ejecting the disc at random. It reads the discs very well but cannot comment on burning or ripping them.The stand does feel like cheap plastic but it is sturdy and easily attachable. I have it stood vertically and it looks nice enough whilst not taking up too much space.My only problem is when it stands vertically, the discs feel as though they will slip out before it enters the player. There is a little grip at the bottom when you insert them but they look very unsteady. I did not have a problem with them slipping out but will edit this review if they do. This problem can be easily solved though by making it sit horizontally.The biggest downside is it does not come with a UK plug, it is a 2 pin European one, and I do not think the software included includes playing bluray without a subscription. I did not take a star off due to already being subscribed to Cyberlinks software and already owning a 3 pin plug adaptor for the 2 pin plug to fit into.It may seem quite expensive but this is one of those 'you get what you pay for' products that I recommend highly if you are looking for a great bluray and dvd player.

Heb deze Asus BD-RW BW-16D1H-U Pro externe Blu-Ray-brander gekocht en ben zeer tevreden van mijn keuze.Op de Asus.nl stond dat het nieuw was 2021 en gereed voor windows 11.Ik heb windows 11 het toestel in gestoken en alles werkte TOP ik heb wel Power DVD 21 op mijn PC staan.Het afspelen van blu-ray films gaat zeer vlot zeer mooi beeld branden gaat ook goed muziek cd rippen hoogste kwaliteit zeer goed en snel. Wie hem wil kopen voor 4k dat speeld hij niet is een blu-ray speler.Nu nog wat meer testen maar ben wel tevreden dat ik deze keuze gemaakt heb wand er staan hier toch slechte reviews.Voor info Ik heb wel een snelle pc i 9900 K 32 GB ram nvidia geforce rtx 2060 super 8gb strix oc nz.Ik hoop dat ik net deze info wat geholpen heb.
