Yeah yeah, it’s a bit pricey. But this is ASUS, and it is everything you’ll need in a slim compact external drive; it can read, write, rewrite CDs, DVDs, and BDs. The cable is detachable, which is an enormous plus. I hate the gloss finish because of fingerprints, but doesn’t matter much, since my studio is usually dim and chill, and you can’t see them. I tried a cheaper $60 drive and it was a nightmare, with very inconsistent playback, compatibility issues, and especially a hardwired cable that was only 6†long. Like I said, sometimes you just HAVE to pay more for better. Also, it’s plug and play, no need for drivers. Comes with a ROM with bundled software, but it’s unnecessary. Everything you’ll ever need to do can be done right in VLC including ripping and burning. You must make sure that your VLC region code is set properly. Go to Tools/Preferences/Input-Codecs/Show All/Access Modules/Blu-ray/Region and voila! I mention this because mine was set by default to Region B and I needed to change it to region A.

This blu-ray player and writer works perfectly with the latest release of Ubuntu (24.04). While the device includes a USB-C compatible cable, the port on the device is a USB micro-B Superspeed port, so you'll need to use the included, very short cable to connect with it. It also includes a dual-USB-A to USB micro-B Superspeed cable so not using the USB C will cost you two USB A ports instead.Performance is good; I'm able to watch my bluray movies via VLC with no problems at all.

Leggero.masterizza DVD e bluray e CD alla perfezione. Speriamo bene. Masterizzatore davvero ottimo. Legge anche i vecchi DVD RAM. E incide Millennium DVD. Voto10 stelle unica pecca ..... Troppo leggero.

Player ist leicht, einfach zu installieren, spielt Altes wie Neues ohne Probleme ab. Brennen läuft ebenso gut

Gravei, assisti filme no notebook, tudo certo. Vai facilitar muito fazer e acessar backups nas viagens.Ps.: Ainda não testei midia maior que 23 gb.
