I think I've swapped out most parts on the Polaris Pool Cleaner now. Let's see how durable these clamp parts are, but after a couple of months they seem good. Clamps are easy to install and "clamp down the tail hose" to help the pressure of the "tail" to swing back and forth cleaning the pool bottom. Guess that all the parts of the Sweeper will need to be changed every ~2 years though.

We have had our Polaris for many years and the one weak link as always been the connection of the tail to the polaris. Whenever we purchased / installed a new tail, we got one of these clamps. The issue is the clamp doesn't last and after a few weeks we'll find the tail disconnected from the polaris. After getting it out of the deep end (it always comes off in the deep end) I normally use a flex tie to secure the tail back on the polaris. I can usually get it tight enough to hold but if I"m traveling and my wife has to fix it, she doesn't have the strength to really pull that flex tie tight. Found this packet of six and thought what the heck, we'll give them a try. Use one the day the package arrived and it's been almost three weeks and it's still holding tight.

In the colder months our pool sweep hoses stiffen up due to cold water in the pool. The filter needs to run to filter things and the sweep needs to run to help clean the pool of debris. A golf course off the back yard means lots of things to clean. When the hoses stiffen, the tail of the pool sweep overcomes the clip holding it on and the tail drops off. The little plastic clips that the pool store sells at outrageous prices are hard to come by. Stainless steel hose clamps are also prohibitively expensive and don't do as well as the plastic clips. Every other year we buy a new tail assembly that comes with ONE plastic clip. I bought the new tail on Amazon and nearby was a listing for a package of plastic clips. Now I have my own supply and now I have to figure out how to keep track of them.
