This is a great value for someone who needs an all-in-one solution to mount to a tonearm and start listening to music with no fuss. I bought this for old, beat up records because I read online that the conical would be better for those records than my microlinear stylus (which is much more expensive). After some A/B testing, the conical doesn't seem to be any better. The ML stylus sounded better on every single record I tested, tracked over scratches better, and actually presented less surface noise. I'm not sure what "smoothing" a conical is supposed to do, but I didn't hear it. I even realigned everything and checked the tracking force for the new setup. I didn't even bother with trying to make it through break-in because I doubt it will make a huge difference anyway. If you have a ML stylus and are looking for something to smooth over beat down records, you might be better off just saving your money or investing in better record cleaning tools/products. Otherwise, this is a great value, it sounds great and the headshell is nice quality.

It is a beautiful sound that comes from the Audio Cartridge. It is convenient that it is already mounted in the headshell for easy installation on your turntable.

I have a belt drive MGA DP-200 (Mitsubishi) turntable, and the head shell and cartridge have gone thru many years of heavy LP play. When the needle broke on me a week ago, and I pulled the stylus off...to my dismay, the cartridge body was falling apart. I was relieved to find this replacement; it actually sounds MUCH better than my previous cartridge (no annoying hum when I move the arm to play an LP!!!).....such a fantastic, clean, and warm sound from all my LP's, old and new - even the 'scratchy' ones that are over 60 years old. And? If/when the stylus goes bad in the future....easy replacement! Highly recommend this to anyone looking to replace their headshell and cartridge for vintage 70's/80's era turntables.

I got this to see how it would change the sound. Its pretty good for AT's "low end" combo. I'm happy with what this can do.

Bought this after reading Herb Reichert's about a dozen times, as well as others. Takes me forever to pull the trigger on a purchase - regardless of price. Outshines all my other cartridges: Sumiko Pearl, Black Pearl, and Shure M-97xe. Sounded good right out of the box, but better after a couple of days. I was thinking about buying the other cartridges in the VM95 lineup, but I don't think I will. The conical just sounds too good. Give it a whirl - it costs next to nothing.

Outstanding!! Easy to install and the sound quality is superior. Sharper and more vibrant sound reproduction on all my vinyl...both new AND OLD! Highly recommended!!!

I refurbished my 1974 Pioneer PL-12 turntable. This headshell, cartridge and stylus combo worked out great. It's wonderful to listen to my old vinyl records again.It sounds nice and I would recommend.

I needed an easy way change cartridges when I want to play a 78 rpm records. This item was full assembled and ready to go. The packaging was environmentally friendly and almost easy to disassemble. After installing in the turntable, I discovered that it was slightly out of alignment. Alas, I'm still looking for the right screwdriver to make an adjustment. (It would be nice if one was supplied.) The price is right. I would recommend it.

Bought this to replace the cartridge on my AT-LP 120 USB that had become faulty and based on reviews this seemed a good choice at reasonable price for full unit rather than try change the part head like some seem to sell and am very happy with the sound coming from my Technics HiFi after good few weeks of not using this deck.
