Bought this set for the 3.5" auger. i have some 2x4 posts to set and was hoping this would work. it did!!. perfect hole. 2x4 fits snuggly. not a lot of back fill needed. i used in my hard sod yard. ate right thru grass. a little shallow for my posts but you can add an extension if needed. i had two holes drilled in very solid soil in about 5 minutes. it would have taken that long or longer for just one hole with my regular post hole digger and i would have had a hole twice as big as needed.HINT: use an impact drill with slip feature. while it will chew through small rocks if you hit a larger one will twist drill right out of you hand. (learned the hard way, ouch)

Once I found a drill that would accept the attachments, I was well pleased. Good quality workmanship. I would buy again.

I love augers for the drill. I used in garden and flower bed. Makes planting flowers and vegetables so much easier to plant. This product is well mad and should last for years.

I bought these to assist in digging post holes. I can use these ahead of my PHD(post hole digger) to loosen the soil so there is less work with the PHD. They work great.

Before I bought these tools, I had the worst time trying to plant seedlings in ground that was covered with a ground cover sheet. But these augers just cut right through the cover sheet, leaving a hole not much bigger than the auger bit and allow you to continue using the auger to remove soil to the proper depth. Then simply drop your seedling into the hole, cover the stem and roots with the dirt that was removed by the auger, then cover the hole with the mulch or whatever covered the ground in the first place. If you want to assure that weeds and grass don't grow up around the hole that was made by the auger, you can cut a square of the cover material, cut a cross-section in the center and place it over the seedling. WALLA! Your seedling firmly planted and not grass or weeds can come up around it.

The 3rd largest drill bit is the one I would have the most use for and it bent while trying to drill through loose sandy soil. Tried to get it straightened out by clamping it and bending it back but it doesn’t work well if it’s bent at all so I have to just use the next step down.

If you are planting a lot of trees or plants that need a hole this is the Best Tool Ever. I've planted trees before using the V spade and it took forever. This tool allows you to walk along and just punch holes, then go back and insert your soil and trees in a portion of the time. I put in a 25 tree orchard in one forth the time I'd previously spent doing others. Huge time saver.
