Maybe I just didn't know these existed, but man, am I glad I bought this. I wasn't sure these would even work, so I looked for the cheapest one I could get via Prime, and this one was it.I noticed that they reccomend you have at least a 20V drill, and mine was 12. So I bought a new drill. Why didn't I buy that years ago, also? Anyway, once I got this whole thing set up, I went about planting. I had some perenials to put in rocky, heavy, clay soil. Last time, it bent my hand trowel. I put the augur bit in the drill, and squeezed the trigger. SECONDS LATER, the perfect depth hole was made! This thing tore through the earth. By moving the drill around in a circle, I got the hole to be the diameter I needed. I even went a little deeper and wider just to till the soil and break it up. Then I added mulch and compost to enrich, popped my plant in, and covered it. Went down a little row- bam! bam! bam! and got everything planted in seriously maybe 10 minutes. Ridiculously easy.Buy this one, or another cheap one...they are probably all made in the same factory in China...but get one! Makes a world of difference in your planting. This fall, I am going to put in hundreds of bulbs. This is the perfect size for bulb planting- it will be a breeze. I have been putting it off for decades because the standard bulb planter tool that looks like a potato masher is crap- doesn't work in the tough soil conditions we have here. This augur bit will make it a snap- one person drills the hole, the next puts the bulb in and covers. Easy peasy.

The product really works and digs through soil very easily with a portable or corded electric drill. The only issue was the length at about 12 inches is too short unless you like bending over. I overlooked that aspect when I placed the order although it is a very sturdy product.

Was great for fence post. Half time of digging with post hole diggers.Great use for gardening also.

A planting season must have. Made planting flower bulbs a quick and easy job. Saved time and wear and tear on your hands. I absolutely love this product. Attach to a battery operated drill or plug in drill and makes the job easy peasy.

Does not work in hard dirt. But does work fine in wet or softer soil.

This thing is great. I bought this thinking that it would only work in softer soil. When I used it for the first time I was impressed. It works very well. I planted my flower garden in one day and the next day I installed the fence around my vegetable garden. The solid in the vegetable garden is very hard and rocky. The only thing I wish I did differently was to get the smaller auger too. That might help break the soil even more easier.

This works great when planting 4 and 5" plants. Saved me lots of time when planting multiple (and my back didn't hurt as much either). I used this only in my flower bed and the soil was moist. It easily made the holes just right. I did try using it for a large plant 10" across but a shovel would have been quicker. I'm glad I bought this
