Works great. If use the vent clips I recommend use super glue to keep the clips attached to the ashtray. The tends to pop out when removing the base to empty.

2016 jeep Compass latitude has weird round vents, where the slats go all the way back. So there's no way for it to clip onto anything really. Cute tho, but it's a bummer. I got it because there's only 2 cup holders for the front of the car :')

I bought it so that my husband could smoke in the car, but it was not as I expected. There was no place to rest the lit cigarette as it would go out if it is laid down. Not my best purchase.

It would not fit against the dash. Sat at an angle. No way to open up and dump butts.

I received two of this quickly so that's a plus. The light inside is an excellent addition! They go together easily and maybe that's part of the problem! The hooks are ok but the ashtray itself will not stay screwed to the lid. Every time we bump it or hit a big bump it falls off.. If I had wanted all the ashes and buts on my floor I would not have ordered ashtrays. What a mess my car is now after a 3 day trip. Thought about super glueing the ashtray to the lid.. But then you would have to take the whole thing off to empty and I do not believe the clips are sturdy enough to stand up to repeated on and off. This is a good idea, just need to make the tray attachment to the lid better, able to screw the tray further around or something!! These are inexpensive so buy if you must and better luck to you than I have had.

This is a piece of garbage. Fell apart before even used. Would not trust that it is safe for use.

The first few months, this was a great purchase. Then the lid didn't lock on properly anymore. The problem is the lid is what holds this up. If the vent hooks were attached to the base, it would still be useful, but since they attach to the lid, you can't use it anymore once the lid loosens.
