I bought this feeder because I travel a lot. I have a small tank with three fish (2 danios and 1 tetra). I filled the feeder up with tropical flakes. I crushed the flakes a bit so there would be no chance of a glob getting stuck and my fish starving. I set the feeder so it goes off every 12 hours. I adjusted the feeding size to the smallest possible since I only have 3 fish. From the time I filled the feeder, it lasted just under 5 months till it was empty. My water did begin to turn a bit brown though so I think having it go off every 12 was over feeding them a bit so I might switch it to every 24 hours. Overall a great long lasting feeder that does its job. The only thing I would change is I wish there was a way to turn it off without taking out the batteries. It would be nice to switch it off for 2-3 days when I’m home if I notice they are being over fed.

I had used other model before, it was easy operating and easy opening. This one is totally opposite. To fill the fish food is a pain, very hard to open, I am ready to dispose it to the trash if it is not returnable!

It seems reliable for an automatic fish feeder. I can only get it to do flakes and not tiny tropical pellets. It wouldnt hurt if the device was a little shorter so it wouldnt hit the lid of a tank. For the price though, its definitely worth it.

Worked for my tetras tank while I was on vacation but they're not great for bigger tanks. My tetras are in a 20 gallon tank and the feeder worked fine for them, but I have a 70 big tank for my big gold fish which he is albino his name is Mr White but the feeder wasn't dispensing enough food having it on 12 hr for his daily feeding. I pre tested them before hand to make sure they dropped food and they did work. The amount varies though and I only used flakes in mine.

Ordered this last Sept. been sitting in the box unused since, opened and set up today, it won't stop rotating, only way to stop rotation is to remove the batteries. What happened to quality control?

Love this little helper. Has a very adjustable portion control, reliable mechanism, and somehow keeps the food less humid than others I've used.
