The directions aren’t very clear so we watched a few YouTube videos and then it was easy.. I have a harbor freight greenhouse and some drilling thru the windows frame to anchor needed to be done .. it’s best to have the piston as retracted as possible and it being simmer I put mine in a jar of ice and then you can press the piston as far in as it goes .. then attach it to the mechanism .. use self tapping screws vs the straight screws that comes with it .. once in they work awesome!!

It takes a bit of guessing to get the unit attached correctly. But the brackets actually did line up with the holes from the original vent brackets. So it's installed and now I have to wait to see how far it opens, and if it closes correctly tonight! So it's been installed now for a few weeks and it works great. It opens the vent at around 70 degrees. If it reaches 80 inside the greenhouse, the vent opens fully. Otherwise it seems that the opening is directly proportional to the temperature. As soon as the temperature drops down below 70, the vent closes up tight. I think it is actually closed much tighter than before it was installed. It really helps to regulate the greenhouse temperature. I realize now, however, that it would have been better to have a greenhouse with a vent on each side to really get the heat out. But that's another issue.

opens and closes the vent on my greenhouse as advertised. not sure why some are saying it doesn't work properly.

I bought this to install on a Palram Canoipa greenhouse. I had to make all sorts of modifications to make it attach and fit, all for naught. The lower bracket on this unit really prefers to be mounted vertically, not at an angle. The way the Canopia frame is made that the lower bracket of opener would install to, the opener bends the frame. When at rest the bracket was in a bind and when it finally moved to open, it was like and explosion and it went straight to full open, again, bending the greenhouse frame. Trying to save a few bucks over the Palram unit that's made to fit, just cost me the price of this opener in addition to the Palram. I should have known better. Oh well.

I highly recommend this product. The piston operates as the temp changes to open or close my greenhouse windows. Excellent!

Incorrect advertising… instead of 33lb lift, the box indicates 7kg (i.e. 15.4lb) only.

First summer and it worked flawlessly on my 8x8 greenhouse with a 4x2 roof vent.

Installation for my aluminum frame greenhouse required some DIY brackets and cutting of the frame. Spent several hours on this. After installing works well: sensitive to the temperature change and has great opening at maximum range.
