Camera Quality is good and since its hardwired does not drop out. does noit depend on the charge state of your phone or rquire connection each time you get in the vehicle . Basically Just turn the key, open screen. The screen portion is very lightweight and easily folds down when not in use. It is nice having the separate screen so the phone can be used for navigation. Wires can be run so that they are not an issue -It takes a bit of time but totally worth the effort to install these so wires do not get yanked out, broken etc. Everything is included in the kit to get it up and running. I found the sticky pad that came with the kit fairly useless for holding the screen on the dash. I had another one sitting around that proved to be much stickier. You could also use Velcro or double stick depending on if you want the ability to remove the folded down screen unit from the dash all together or not. I like this wired monitor over the mirror type as well. the mirror type would cause me to re-adjust the rearview mirror & reduces driving safety in my opinion. I did not order one but based on the placement I would need this area was NOT naturally in my rearview. Overall this functions very nicely and doesn't interfere with the function or use of my other necessary devices. I am happy with this and would order again.

The picture quality of the camera is good but there are several drawbacks to the system. The wires are not quite as cumbersome as you may first think. The camera lens is wide angle but there are limitations. I drive a Jeep Grand Cherokee and utilize the camera with three rear facing car seats. You can see the middle seat perfectly but when it comes to the outer seats your view is somewhat obstructed. The biggest negative I have found is the camera cannot operate well at night with oncoming traffic. The night vision is not the issue but when the glare of oncoming headlights shines into the camera the picture is completely distorted and you can not see anything. This is also the same thing to be said when the sun shines into the camera as well. It is a good value, it is ok but just be aware of the downsides.

This was easy to install and set up in my car so I can keep an eye on our babies in the back seat. For the price, it is actually pretty good. Picture is nice and clear for the most part.
