Immersion Wort Chillers
Safety first: food grade hose, 304 stainless steel tube
A wort chiller is a heat exchanger designed to cool your wort to yeast pitch-able temperatures at a rapid rate, forming the cold break.
Just attach your immersion chiller to a garden hose or kitchen sink and turn on the cold water. Water runs internally through the coils and is then immersed in the hot wort. The heat from the wort is conducted by the copper or stainless and expelled through the chiller's outlet tube.

0.5MM Ultra-thin Tube
The 50' long tube effectively increases the contact area with the wort, and 0.5MM ultra-thin wall maximizes heat exchange to ensure rapid cooling in a limited time.

304 stainless steel has strong corrosion and oxidation resistance. It's a standard metal which can direct contact with food. All details reflect the purpose of safety first.

the hose connections it came with leaked pretty bad and the hose clamps weren't great, but I got some better ones and now it works like a dream. Cooled my wort from boiling to 75 degrees in about 15 minutes

Cools my wort quickly and efficiently. The 50' length is great for the 5 gallon batches of beer that I've been making. It cools at a decent rate, long enough for me to sanitize the fermentation vessel and clean up a bit.

The quality of the construction is excellent but it is not sufficient for cooling wort quickly. The problem is that the inner diameter of the tube is too small - about 0.25 inches which does not carry enough volume of water to make for a fast thermal transfer. I have 3 immersion chillers - this one and one by Anvil and one by Jaded. This one is by far the worst performing and I regret wasting money buying it.

Overall this chiller worked well. I live in Wisconsin where my well water was a balmy 56f in the middle of august. Brought 6 gallons of boiling wort down to 80ish degrees in just shy of 8 minutes.BUTThe hoses and connection method on this thing are ridiculous. The provided tubing was a loose fit over the steel. Using the supplied hose clamps, also low quality, really had to crush the tubing and deform it to make a seal. Like chunking out the tube tight. At about 5 minutes in, my water pressure blew the hose off and created a jet spraying all over my garage, including me, my wife, my chair, and the beer I was drinking. Like one of those flailing firehose videos. You know since the tubing is much smaller than the diameter of my garden hose. I saved money going with this, which I WAS happy about, but now the cost of fittings to firmly attach said tubing, put it directly in line with one of the name brands. Should have just bought the nicer one and been done with it. Being a cheapskate bit me again....

Cut my wort cooling time from about 90 minutes using the ice bath in the sink method, to about 20 minutes. No instructions on how to attache the hoses. I like the stainless steel vs copper. Could use three clamp rings instead of the two that come with it. Make sure you test it for leaks before using. You don't want to potentially contaminate your wort.

Nice product but the water pressure is so high at my house it blows the supplied hose off the hose connection. Lower flow and extra hose clamp is the way to go...
