CA, USA, 7/2024- My dancer wore this costume as an angel in an opera. It was the second wear of the dresses at their studio (They were purchased in 2022, I don't know if the design has changed since then). It is beautiful from the stage. However, the way this costume is constructed is odd- at least in my experience (I was a dancer myself for 20+ years and now have a dancer of 7 years). This looks like a leotard with a romantic style tutu. It is that essentially- but really it's like the leotard was cut in half at the waist to have the romantic tutu skirt inserted and sewn in all the way around. The leotard has normal leotard stretch but there is absolutely NO stretch in the waist because of the tutu skirt. If your dancers have hips/derrieres at all they will have a really hard time getting into this costume, and you will have to repair popped seams at least. Good news is ballet dancers tend to be flexible and slim so repairs are not difficult- I was able to learn a quick hand stitch for stretch fabric (thank you YouTube), and I don't have much sewing experience. I also happened to see a couple of the dresses required extra fabric be sewn into the crotch. If you only plan on using it for a few performances, it will work. If you plan on keeping it to use as much as you can, you will most likely be performing a lot of mending to it.

This dress is pretty but the sizing is totally off. It fits very weird and not true to size. Tight in all the wrong places and does not look like the photo. Had to return.
