Used it on a rescue sprayer that had been sitting in a field. Cap was gone and the flange was all rotten and broken. This was a little larger than the opening on that one. I just traced it with a sharpie and trimmed it with a jigsaw. Snug as a bung on a rung.

My problem was a missing 10" lid on my 300 gallon tank. This lid came with the female insert as well which I did not want to use as the screw holes do not match up with the female collar already installed on my 300 gallon water tank. I had looked at the specs for this lid and saw that it was slightly wider in diameter (from the outside of the threads) to my original lid. But, it did screw on, just not all the way down. So, I tried it on my 1600 gallon tank and this time it DID screw all the way down. I took that lid (Wylie 10") and found it fit my 300 tank just fine. So, problem solved.
