Great for walkie type radios like the Bao BF-888S. Radio and antenna will just stash in your pocket. We use them as spotter radios off-roading where you don’t need the distance. On my Tid TD-H8 at 5w I can ping a repeater 10 miles away. The repeater will respond but I can’t listen to any conversation without Sq at about 1 with a lot of static. These antennas aren’t meant for range, they’re meant to turn your GMRS/HAM HT into a close range walkie talkie. And for that they work great!

Works perfectly indoors and outdoors. I work in a building that is cinder block and concrete and I can be on the other side of the building and still get crystal clear reception.

Stubby Antennas by nature do not have the range of even the stock/OEM antennas that most radios come with. That's OK because you are likely seeking a Stubby to reduce the footprint of your radio and no matter what you already know that means compromising signal/distance, right? Now that we're on the same page, I was shocked at how well these stubby antennas worked FOR GMRS FREQUENCIES in real world versus about a dozen other brands of stubby antennas I've tried. These went head to head with other stubbys in a range test. Same radios, same locations, same day. These were getting/receiving when other stubbys, even much more expensive ones were not. They went against stubbys of 2.5inches or less. I imagine there are some stubbys of 2.5 inches or less that outperform these but as far as the amazon stubby category goes, I dont think you'll fine a better value to performance ratio.

Works fine. Do the same as the original one. Good pricing

It's a stubby lil antenna and I still get great reception. Didn't cost much, no complaints.

Stubby antennas are decent at reception and usually stink when it comes to transmission. These are exceptionally OK with transmission. A good tradeoff when using for short-distance comms. Better on UHF than VHF, which isn't surprising. Works well on GMRS frequencies.

Makes radio more compact. Functional on the frequency I use at work. Swr is acceptable not perfect.

Short antenna performance is as expected - Short range. I use these short antennas on my HTs when around the house or immediate neighborhood. Much like a dummy load, but worse than the original factory antenna. It is used for convenience when a longer antenna gets in the way. Performing as expected. Not a tool for all occasions

These stubby antennas get hot, and I do mean hot.I burnt my fingers and arm touching the antenna. I know antennas get warm when used, but it should never be to the point that it burns your fingers. The plastic covering actually smells like it's melting.
