My window sill orchids are all shooting up flower stems - rather unusual for this time of year. (I've been fertilizing with 30-6-6 bloom formula every 2 weeks). These clips are an absolute necessity to keep stems straight and growing in the direction that my narrow window sill requires. They close and hold adequately on small and large stems - but could close a bit tighter with a slightly stronger spring, if I wanted to get picky. I did knock off one star because the supplier didn't give the size of the clips. Clips can run from very tiny (for an 1/8" stem) to large (for 1/4"-3/8" stems), and the larger ones don't work on small stems. Having a photo with dimensions would have been a great help. Fortunately, I 'guessed right', and the clips are close to the size I hoped for. They arrived very quickly. BTW - I'd suggest getting a 15-18" length wooden stake for supporting stems.

This is a simple clip so not much to it but it is a very brittle plastic -press too hard or place a book on top of it on the table and there it goes. In reality if this was a $2.50 item I would probably rate it a 5 but at over 6 bucks what you get is a bunch of fragile plastic clips. Probably should have bought a new orchid for $20, enjoy the flowers for 2-3 months then reuse the 3 clips I just needed.

I needed these for my orchid and Hoya plants. They fulfil the requirements, sturdy and good. Also, the clips arrived much before time, 5 days earlier....so a plus for the seller!
