I must admit, I am very much a newbie when it comes to the gym. For years I would tell myself, "Joe, THIS is the month you begin your fitness journey." The words, of course, were always indecipherable because my mouth was stuffed full of pizza and other bread-adjacent treats. Nevertheless, I would daydream about future me, sculpted like marble, effortlessly tossing barbell plates around like a forest troll looking under rocks for his next snack. But the truth is, the journey from Point A (insecure, out-of-shape Joe) to Point B (rich-in-swagger, forest troll Joe) isn't a direct flight. It's hard. And most of us (self-included) have severe difficulty motivating. We beat ourselves up, calling ourselves lazy or other names, and conjure all sorts of pretty little reasons to wait until tomorrow. Yuck.So how the heck do we get from Point A to Point B? The same way humans have made any degree of progress throughout our entire existence: TOOLS. Any task can be accomplished with proper tools. This is what my purchase from HT Athletics has made me realize. This is what it's all about. So, let's talk TOOLS. There are bazillions out there. And the gym already has so many. Which do you need? How do you pick? Well, let's just look at the tools I received within this HT Athletics Bundle and have been using for a mere two months.SUPER BANDS: These are my favorite part of the package, mostly because I get so much home use out of them. Got 10 minutes to kill at home? You can do a quick resistance band workout. Heck, you can use them on your couch while you binge The Great British Bake Off. But also, you can bring them to the gym and use them in conjunction with the barbells to increase resistance. And because these are flat bands (not round!) they don't roll and shift around making you worry about them slipping free and whacking you in the face or your other valuable parts. They're also great for helping not-so-flexible people like me do basic yoga and stretching. Honestly, the HT Athletics Bundle would be worth it even if it just came with the bands.BARBELL CLAMPS: You never really know how poorly designed a certain thing is until a newer and MUCH better version comes along. These clamps are undeniably the perfect example of that newer and MUCH better creation. They're ergonomically designed to lock and unlock with zero effort (no unnecessary hand workouts), making sliding plates on and off your barbells and dumbbells between sets a breeze, while not compromising a single bit of security (none of that shaky plate rattling during reps!). I wouldn't be surprised if 20 years from now these are the standard in every single gym in the country.BARBELL PAD: This item is the one I thought would matter the least to me but has surprised me most. As someone who can barely squat more than the bar and is generally afraid of being crushed to death at the gym, I find this pad has given me more comfort and security doing exercises I never thought I'd be doing two months ago. The foam is thick and the leather is excellent quality, and it fits snug on all the bars at my local gym. It also doesn't have any of those poorly placed, annoyingly scratchy seams so it's functional AND comfortable. Fact is, I'm on a quest to get my booty shelf-like and juicy and I don't think I could manage this quest without this barbell pad assisting me on the necessary, booty-poppin' exercises like squats and hip thrusts. So here I am, two months into owning this HT Athletics Barbell Bundle, and I'm feeling pretty good about myself. I'm still weak, but I'm definitely stronger than I was. I'm still "out-of-shape," but a few of my old clothes are starting to fit again. And the inertia of unhealthy habits I'd built up over years has halted (mostly), and my healthy habits are starting to gain momentum. For transparency's sake, I'm a 38-year-old pothead who bartends 50 hours a week just to pay bills. I'm tired all the time. And I have severe executive dysfunction / ADHD struggles, paired with a heavy dose of depression and anxiety. Now, these products will NOT cure any of that and I would never make such a claim. But what they have done, is give me a few tools and few tactics to better control the things I can control about my own life. And that alone is worth the price a hundred times over.TL;DR - These products are bangarang and you should buy them ASAP.

This is a good quality set of gear in one bundle. The barbell clamps and barbell pad are good. The super bands are excellent. A great deal if you need at least two items in the bundle.Compared to other barbell clamps I have, these are thinner and less sturdy but should be fine for the amount of weight I actually use. They're also a little bit harder to slide into place than the top brand model I've used. However, being magnetic was a genius idea! That makes storage much easier when you take them off for safety on a bench press and have to put them someplace -- it's nice to be able to just stick them to the rack magnetically. The thing I like best in this bundle is the very substantive and long super bands. In a past bundle from a different company, I've gotten some junky bands too short for my use. The excellent bands in this bundle are made of high quality material and are long enough for me. A huge improvement over the bands I have been using.

If you are experienced and know how to do the exercises, then this seems like a fine set. For someone who doesn't know how to use these items, there is no instruction included. The bonus 12-week program is really just a list of exercises, which is fine if you already know what a "preacher curl" is, or a "hanging DB snatch"...but it is not very useful for those of us who are not gym rats. Note that the clamps will work for an olympic bar (with wide ends for the plates), but they are too large for typical 3/4" bars that most people use at home. The bar pad and resistance bands are good quality. However, you might save some money by buying these components individually...it is not clear that buying this set will save money overall.

I had a killer workout using this set. the barbell pad allowed me to kill some squats as well as glute drives. the resistance bands gave me more of a challenge with my deadlifts and pulls and the clamps supported me in the journey without letting me down. highly recommended
