Seems to do the job well, until the metal heads fall off. Now it is completely useless and broken.

Great way to crack ice cubes.

We had an old ice tapper when I was a kid, the metal disc was solid and you couldn't hurt that thing. The first time I used this one I smacked a clump of bagged ice and the metal disc fell out. It was thin metal, and there are two halves. They are pressed into the handle. There is no weight to it. Absolutely does not serve the purpose it is designed to serve. Save your money.

This isn't as substantial as I'd hoped. When the ice first comes out of the freezer, it's not really strong enough to crack the ice.We found that if we run room temperature water over the very cold ice, it "pre-cracks" and then the tapper works perfectly. Given what we wanted it for - our small dogs love ice, but they need smaller pieces at their age, this extra step isn't a problem for us, and we love it for the price, but if you wanted it for cocktails, having to do that extra step might be a dealbreaker and you might want a more substantial one.

There's nothing wrong with thing. It just lacks utility and it's not better than a regular ice pick. Something I didn't notice in the pics; the handle is a thin plastic which makes this "slap" the ice. If done correctly you will cause it to shatter and boom! you've got cracked ice. If you don't do it perfectly, you have bleeding under your fingernails and a solid piece of ice. Sorry, no pics. I've since learned to hold the ice much differently, but I still can't find the magical way to use this thing to reliably get cracked ice every time.

Poorly constructed. This was not as thick as the one we had for 20 years. Metal flew off once and I put it back in. Just flew off again. A lobster wood mallet works better. Not worth the money.

Vou ser sincero, comprei por ser um objeto "vintage" mas, par aa minha surpresa, funciona muito bem e é bemlegal de usar! Sem contar a festa que fiz mostrando para os amigos como quebrar gelo! Vale a compra!

It arrived well over a week late invoice said $7.00 paid £20 so will over priced. The ice tapper look very flimsy in construction. Probably better using a rolling pin and tea towel or Lewis bag and mallet. At a push back if an old bar spoon. Could not recommend the product or seller at all

Didn’t even last the first ice cube… broke first use. Avoid.
