First, these latches are finished by red bronzing and the manufacturer (who I presume is this seller) is clearly very good at bronzing. I’ve bought other red bronze items on Amazon and elsewhere and it is not the same across the board, believe me; some are dark brown, others appear to have rubbed off and become entirely silver again. But these are consistent and gorgeous.Second, the latch is sturdy and reliable. I have purchased many of these now and they have been consistent with these two points: gorgeous red bronze and sturdy/functional.Third, Zinc is not known as the strongest metal but it is a strong contender for durability, so if zinc is what brings this type of excellent bronzing and durability, then I can get behind it.Fourth, this seller/maker (Iniret) is fantastic. They respond quickly, they worked with me around a special request, and they ship very quickly.Overall, highly recommended.

This is a sturdy latch with a solid feel. The finish is great and it's been helpful to keep our dogs from opening French doors we have between two rooms.
