I have an old whiskey barrel and due to the temperature and humidity changing, the wood expands and contracts and the metal rings would get loose and fall off. These nails are the perfect solution to hold the metal rings in place. The nails get rusty and match the rusty barrel rings perfectly.

The staves on my barrel were quickly drying/shrinking and I wanted to maintain a rustic look without it falling apart. This fit the bill perfectly. Just hammer them in to prevent the rings from slipping off the narrow ends of the barrel.

Ordered the barrel hoop nails and they came exactly as advertised. I had recently restored an old wine barrel into a liquor cabinet and these things were perfect for helping secure the rings. I had ordered these outside of amazon as well earlier but the shipping speed was really improved ordering through Amazon.
