Normally when buying any game i, like most people do alittle research on it first, I couldn't find any informative YouTube reviews or much at all on this, the only ones there are feature what sound like more mature gamers and a few videos of people playing the tutorial or bailing constantly over and over, whom have blatantly never played it before or are just easily pleased. The game has a pretty decent trailor and, got 8/10 on steam so I pulled the trigger. It wasn't and isn't worth pulling the trigger for, it's abit of fun, for like an hour or so, then it gets pretty boring. Gameplay gets extremely repetitive, once you've done a few janky wave moves (Which consists of holding one of two buttons) whilst your surfer does some random pre-rendered slide, landed a few dodgy air moves, which also seem to be landed upon a dice roll , sometimes you fall because the wave just started to curl after you jump, sometimes you forget to let go of the pump button (r1, which is also the button to do a grab, so, if you hold the button down, to constantly pump on the wave then turn to pump upwards for air , you will inevitably constantly forget to let go of it prior to landing which results in yet another janky pre animated fall (there is no way to customise controls either,), other times you can land backwards and everything is fine, pump to the max ,hit the top of the wave but miss time or don't press jump, You just stay pumping vertically at the top of a wave, might come off, might not, paddling doesn't mean anything at all, press O over a wave when going any direction or speed and youl jump up and onto it , so , the point on upgrading your paddle stat seems pointless, and ride the tube, which you can jank out of, jank into, consists of waiting for it to form, pressing back and L2, then sit in it for a minute for maximum points every time!, that's it really. Career, start by an overly pointless character creator, all of the outcomes look bad, then win SEVEN TIMES PER LOCATION ,5 minutes per session, zzzzzzzzzzzzz Do a session, if you fall, press reset until you win, to win, just exoloit the dumb AI, get priority on a wave by swimming into the circle first, then wait until the AI catches up and catches one, swim next to them, catch the same wave and they will instantly be disqualified from doing a anymore waves for stealing the wave and you cannot lose, (actual surfers with working brains made this apparently) then, Do it again and again and again until you unlock the next place, to do it again . It's just inconsistent as heck, takes bare no skill, has nothing to do, looks outdated, sounds bad and actually makes you miss ragdoll physics. Starting on the beach seemed pretty cool, but it's also pointless.Yea , if your anything like me and wondering wether it's actually decent, no, it's not. I understand it's a small dev team and would give them the benefit of the doubt but FIFTY QUID!!!!! My lord, greedy much?. Even if you loved surfing , no.To take out the pro surfing "22" is also a pretty scummy move from the Devs. Who by the way, have had all that time to fix the numerous problems and should have built an entirely new game, to not even bother fixing the one that's already out, plain lazy as. Download for a tenner next year if you absolutely must.
