My grandson wanted a wooden bat to practice with ( he is 11 ) . Yes it is a little small in diameter but helps him in hitting the sweet spot. He can’t use it in LL but when he uses his other bat in a game he makes great contact. I didn’t purchase some of the other brands ( well known ) because of their bad reviews. It has not cracked yet and we use it for batting practice.

I live in Florida. I bought it to carry in my golf cart just in case I need to slam an alligator in the nose. I think this it will work well for this.

If you are considering this product for self protection, it would be fine for most people who are of not able to handle the weight of a normal bat. However if you are serious about defending yourself, please consider a heavier alternative bat.
