i was in the market for a good shape mallet for my glove break ins and i really thought this thing looked solid before ordering but now that i actually have it im even more happy! good weight to it, handle is long enough and it seems to be made out of one peace of wood which im all for!

Kid got a new catcher's mitt, spouse misplaced the old mallet and seemed uninclined to go find it. It may not even be in the house I am told, since it was at one point leant out to a friend. /le grand sighThus, in order to expedite the break-in of the above mentioned catcher's mitt, this shiny new mallet was delivered to my home. Fairly simple piece of hardware, has plenty of heft to add some oomph to each thwack into the glove pocket, shaped from one solid piece of wood so there's no fear nor danger of a separately crafted & attached ball-end from flying into the sunset mid-strike. Includes a simple cord you can tie at a comfortable position around your wrist to keep the entire mallet from flying off into the sunset in solidarity with those flighty two-piece mallet heads.Will it make your kid a better ball player? No.Will it make your mitt feel better? Yes.

I don't have a glove to break in. But I store it on my bed frame in case an intruder tries to break in.However, I work with some leather items and it helps to loosen some of the stiffer leather and it workswell for this purpose also.

My family recently got some new gloves as the new baseball season approaches. Breaking in gloves is a love-hate thing, but this mallet makes it much easier. I love that it is one piece - there is no joint to worry about coming loose. I can hit the gloves as hard as I want and it is no problem for the mallet. The wood itself is very sturdy. The size of the mallet head is perfect for forming a nice pocket. Highly recommend!

I was hesitant to get this for a few reasons (I thought the end was too small for my bigger outfield and slowpitch gloves and I thought it wouldn't have enough weight to actually be good at breaking in a pocket). I was wrong on both accounts.It has a really nice heft to it and the big end is really weighty and hits the glove pocket with a solid thump that's great for a quicker break-in. And the size of the end knob is smaller than a men's sized softball, but this won't matter because I'll be hitting the pocket over and over in all different locations.I would just recommend to store a men's softball in your glove pocket and wrap it up with a Velcro glove lock and you'll be in great shape to have a broken in glove that keeps a really nicely shaped pocket.
