Retrofitting Guide to Ensure Proper Fit / Measuring for Length and Layout

Baseboard Heater Cover Replacement Measure 1

STEP 1: Remove one endcap and the front panel. Measure between the floor and the top of the heater.

  • Objective: 7.5" or greater
  • If less than 7.5" use the Wall Brackets (WB001) for mounting. This will bring the height up by a minimum of 1.25".

Baseboard Heater Cover Replacement Measure 2

STEP 2: Measure from the bottom of the heating element to the top of the heater.

  • Objective: Between 5″ and 6.75″
  • If less than 5″ use the Wall Brackets (WB001) for mounting. If the distance is greater than 6.75″, the Premium TALL profile should be used.

Baseboard Heater Cover Replacement Measure 3

STEP 3: Measure from the outside face of the finned tube heating element to the back plate.

  • Objective: Less than 3.25″
  • If larger 4″ x 4″ or 4″ x 6″ commercial style element is in place, a wood molding will solve the depth issue.

Measure for baseboard heater cover

STEP 4: Measure for length and layout

  • There is no need for fractional or perfect measurements. Each endcap can offer up to 1.75" for a total of 3.5" when using an endcap at both ends of the panel.
  • Standard straight lengths are measured from end to end using the original back plate. If a straight section is missing the back plate, measure from one extreme end of desired coverage to the other extreme end of coverage. Then subtract 1″. This is the ideal panel length.
  • Baseboard heaters longer than 6′ will require the use of multiple panels and couplers to register the ends together. Example: 8′ = Two 4′ panels and a Baseboarders Basic Coupler to connect them.
  • If Inside Corners are required, panel lengths can be determined by: a. Removing endcaps, b. Measuring side 1 from pipe to corner, c. Subtract 3'' for depth of the adjacent cover, d. Repeat with side 2.

This baseboard cover is great product and such an upgrade over the terrible Slant/Fin covers that were there before. I actually bought one of those Slant/Fin replacement covers from Home Depot and was so turned off by the ugliness (even of a new one) and the complexity of installation with the whole housing that has to slip behind the heating unit, etc.. I decided to look around for an alternative and found these. These base boarders are SO easy to install, literally 2 brackets, I screw each (see picture). They seem very well made. Wish I could replace all the covers in my house!

Originally this came severely damaged and the seller sent me a new one right away! It came two days later and was perfect.I really like the way it looks on my heater pipes. The old one I had had a bottom and this one does not, but the cover is longer I think it looks much better. I like that the vent holes are on the top and the side and my old one was not like that. So far, great product and super easy to install! I left the back of my old one and it slipped right on top. Took me five minutes to put in.

These could not be easier to install. They just slide right on and make my old baseboards look brand new! I just got two for a bedroom so I didn’t mind paying a little more but these would be really expensive to do a whole house. I also wish they were just tad bit longer as mine don’t go all the way to the floor. All in all I’m happy with them.

I bought one and was so pleased I came back for 2 more! They fit perfectly and look so attractive. They changed the whole look of the room. They are very well made and look much more expensive than some of the old baseboard heaters or even some of the new ones that they make today that are very tinny and cheap looking.
