Very cool preserved bat specimen suspended in resin. The resin is very clear and you can see little details of the bat from all sides. The one I received has its spine bent like an ‘S’ instead of straight which shows a bit of a lack of attention to detail during preparation of the sample, but it’s still a cool display item and fun to study.

The preserved detail is impressive! I got this for grade school kids. I'm always looking for physical things, anything to draw their attention away from their phone screens, and this bat certainly got their attention. They loved it! It was an excellent teaching tool to feed their imaginations. We passed it around, discussed the popular beliefs about bats, and talked about all the benefits bats provide.

I feel like I saw mixed review on this and I don't get it.When I opened this it made me so happy I couldn't take it.I didn't know I needed a taxidermy bat up until now. Each one they sent out is a different bat, so they're unique in their own way.I've been showing this off to anyone who will look at it. We under appreciate bats so much as an animals, this is truly such a cool product and I really prefer the square resin because it doesn't morph the details of the animal.

This is super cute if you love biology. I got it for myself as I have a small collection of bones and other things, but my mother-in-law, who is a teacher, saw it and asked if she could borrow it to show her class. She put it best when she said, "you can see everything, look at those little hands!" This is a wonderful educational gift.

The acrylic this is mounted in has exceptional clarity, no distortions. It's a bit bigger in person than the photo suggests. The bat is in great shape, looks like it literally just died! The mouth is agape and very creepy looking. Can't recommend enough.

The bat itself is cool -- you can see his "expression" on his little bat-face.The crystal-clear resin is fantastic, too.I was a little concerned when the webpage said the size was 3 inches by 3 inches, and that's where my slight disappointment comes in -- they could have used a 3 by 5 mold, and stretched his wings out fully. In the 3 by 3 mold, his wings are semi-spread, and you can't make out a lot of details of the tendons and other structural parts of the wings. That's the only reason for dropping a star from a "perfect" 5 star rating.We're just "weird enough" people to actually like this kind of thing -- just a little disappointed that the mold should have been bigger.
