UPDATE: I broke it. It started leaking and I tried to tighten up the internals and cracked the disc. I can say now that I've taken it completely apart that this is not a thermostatic valve. It doesn't have any parts inside that are capable of moving to maintain a constant temperature. This is no more than a typical mixing valve.This kinda works. This is the first thermostatic mixing valve that I have tried, so I may be overly critical. I am not using it for a sink faucet. I breed fish and I use this so that when doing water changes in the aquariums I can match the temperature of the water in these tanks and maintain a constant temperature during the water change. It does work pretty well for a while, but as the temperature of the hot water starts to go down, this valve will not adjust to maintain the temperature. (That's what a thermostatic mixing valve is used for instead of a standard mixing valve.) I can turn the knob to correct the temperature, but that's what I was doing before I bought this. It does keep the temp stable for the first 80 gallons or so, which saves it from being a total loss for me, but I would only be happy if it maintained a constant temperature through a wider range of input temperatures. I don't want to buy temperature controller that costs $300, but I might have to now.
