We have had our wooden track for 8 years through 4 kids. It’s been played with more in the past two days than in the past 8 years with this car. I ordered 3 engines and tested them all. This was the only one that could pull multiple cars up a hill. The batteries last a really long time. The wheels are very strong and grippy. My little one caught his fingers in it multiple times before he got the hang of it. So watch for that. Overall, the best I’ve tried and highly recommended.

The locomotive needs batteries that are NOT included, and the other car needs different batteries that ARE included. Strange combo indeed.

I had gotten the older boy a mini Christmas Train ornament but it had some small pieces so the 3 year old could not have one, I knew he's feel left out and then saw this, He doesn't like people and won't play with them so I knew we were ok with this, Put the people up till he's older, He loved it! His hands fit right around it, He liked the other train car and he liked that he didn't have to put them on track and could go anywhere,

The review of 5 stars is for the product. Runs well. Buttons on the top, forward, stop, back, all work nicely. The 2nd car, batteries came in car with plastic strip to remove. The batteries are for the lights that flash inside car showing passengers.The train was sent by Amazon so I didn't want this review of 5 stars is not for the shipping. That I would give 2 stars. It took longer than other deliveries to arrive, when it did it was packaged in a thin paper Amazon envelope ( no cushion or protection) that was partially open on side and the train box was partially crushed. I opened immediately to inspect. Luckily all was well. This is a Christmas present and since delivery took so long I would not have been able to get a replacement in time if train was damaged.
