There were a few quality control things like burrs and non-smooth surfaces but it holds a cord and winds around smoothly enough.I would reccomend putting the end you want to use as the inside of the coil, so that you can place the other end, and then walk to your desired location while unwinding. This will make sense once you use it and if you put it the wrong way, it's easy enough to reverse.

Like others have written, this product is very cheap and good value. The Cord reel did not fully rotate easily. I used a sharp box cutter knife to trim some of the plastic welds so it operated freely. Took a minute. Not a big deal. Works well for my use! 4 Star. GREAT VALUE

These are perfect for the price.Bear in mind, these cord reels are allover plastic. There are no metal parts so they are in no way heavy duty.If you are looking for a cord reel to stand up to being thrown into the back of a pickup or around a jobsite, this is not the one for you.I purchased these for home use and they are just right for my purposes.They will fit a 50 foot length of 12AWG drop cord comfortably. They will not however fit a 100 foot 12AWG drop cord. It's just too thick.

When I got this the plastic moulding had some seems that would catch and make it hard to use. I had to go and sand down the moulding areas for it to work smoothly. Then also the handle was loose. I unscrewed the handle, and put a washer on the inside of the handle. Tightened it back up, and now it doesn't have so much play, and just works better. So I had to make two tweaks to this item to get it to function better. I still don't know if it's my favorite way to store electrical cords.

Bought one, then a couple more I like them so well. I have 3 at home of different sizes, and one in my RV for power cord. Nice to have the power cord always ready to use when it's raining or bad weather and all you want to do is plug in and get inside the camper. I've banged it around a bit on the road and it hasn't cracked or chipped. There is a spinning handle in the center that helps wind and unwind. Liked them so well I started buying some for my adult kids.

Easy to Use: 4/5 - Product is easy to use as there is not much to it. There is a notch in the wheel to basically attach the beginning of the cord in the spool and continue to "reel" it in and keep it woven.Light Weight: 4/5 - The reel is very light weight. I gave this a 4/5, possibly could have down ranked to a 3. It's basically cheap plastic. For me this isn't a huge issue. The purpose was to neatly organize a 100ft. Cord and hang it on my pegboard in the garage, which is does just fine.Sturdiness: 3/5 - Continuing on the material and "light weightiness'" of the product, I would definitely give this a 3/5. As I mentioned its a cheaper plastic, if you were going to unroll this and toss it on the ground to do so, I would advise against it. I make sure each time I unroll or roll the extension cord back on the reel to take my time doing so. My extension cord is pretty light weight for 100ft, and if it was a thicker gauge I dont think 100ft would fit on the roll. It does take a little bit of extra work to properly weave and lock in the cord to the spool cleanly, but for under 10 bucks, these are all minor gripes.Overall, I give this product a 3.75/5. For a cheap reel to clean up the garage a bit it works great. There are more expensive reels on the market that I'm sure wrap and wind/unwind the cordage better, and support thicker gauges a little more cleanly, but for sub 10 dollars, this works just fine!
