The Classical Brand New Silver Chrome Nickle Polish 4 Valve Euphonium With Free Case Box & Mouth Pc. The euphonium is a conical-bore, tenor-voiced brass instrument. It derives its name from the Greek word euphonic, meaning "well-sounding" or "sweet-voiced" . It is a piston valve musical instrument with the existence of rotary valves. It belongs to the brass band family . It is pitched in concert B, meaning that when no valves are in use the instrument will produce partials of the B harmonic series. It has 4 valves, where in 2 top valves are called action valves and 3rd valve is called compensating valve .It has an extensive range, comfortably from E2 to about D5 for intermediate players. It extends from B0 to as high as B 5. The lowest notes obtainable depend on the valve set-up of the instrument.

I received this euphonium on 2/24. I tried to play it on the same day. The issue was that whenever I pressed down the third valve, the valve stuck. If I pressed the 3rd valve down hard enough, the valve cap became loose. I made sure there was oil on all valves before playing. Also, when I received the instrument, the third valve cap was not screwed in. I was told by NauticalMart to clean the valves and it will work. Also, the 4th valve would get stuck. On 3/3, I requested to return the item but did not receive a response. A week later, I took the euphonium to a reputable music store. They could not fix the issue. I had requested a prepaid return label. I did receive one but it was for a different person and to a different address. I then contacted NauticalMart to request a new label on 3/22. Keep in mind that I had until 3/31 to send the item back. NauticalMart responded stating that they will not send a prepaid label and the return period had expired. They claimed that the euphonium was not defective and took no ownership in the issue. Since I received no help from NauticalMart, I contacted Amazon and they started the A-Z claim. On 3/28, Amazon contacted NauticalMart on my behalf to request a return label. NauticalMart came back asking for a tracking number. After working through Amazon, I have sent the euphonium back and was told that I would be reimbursed for the return shipping. On 4/21, I contacted Amazon and sent a copy of the receipt. At that time, they contacted NauticalMart. I have not heard from them since. This is by far the worst customer service experience I have ever received. If you need to buy a euphonium, look elsewhere.

Arrived in half the time it was supposed to. Beautiful finish. My son who is in middle school absolutely loves it. Plays beautifully.

Pros: the case was lightweight, which is really a plus (most euphonium cases are exaggerated in size, which makes it hard to carry.) The instrument has good sound quality, it's especially a plus for beginners. Cons: the mouthpiece. It doesn't produce the best sound, and it also places pressure on the lips, so just use another. Also, this "euphonium" doesn't really sound like one, it sounds like a BARITONE. Next, when you open the case, an absurd smell lingers. It eventually wears off of the instrument, but the smell is still in the case. Also, the instrument is a bit too small for a euphonium. Conclusion: this instrument is best suited for beginners or people who play the euphonium for fun. Not professionals. (I bought this in December 2018)
