Works very well, maintained 225 for about 3.5 hours with Lump Charcoal. It also seemed to keep the charcoal from flaring up when I did add more.

I like this product for its sturdiness. I’m familiar with the minion method so understanding how to use this wasn’t difficult. Some helpful information for others purchasing this product. Since it’s a loose item, you need to make sure when you put the charcoal into it, don’t put too much or the charcoal will start burning on the other side of the walls. Other than that it works.

Seems like the wings (I don’t know whet else to call t them) block a lot of airflow. I wonder if drilling some air holes in the wings might be necessary.

I filled up my charcoal basket with briquettes after placing these spacers in place and added about half a small chimney of hot coals. This kept my temps almost controller level stable and I haven’t smoked anything in a while. It was almost like I was still smoking every weekend because I used to be able to do that without the basket or spacers when I cooked in it all the time. If your having a hard time keeping your temps stable this should help. I just need to figure out how to reload mid burn more efficiently.

Used the product in my pit barrel cooker and it definitely helped to keep temperatures some what consistent and extended the burn time of the lump charcoal too.
