Let me start by saying that I'm handy, technical and can do mechanical stuff. I have no fear of putting holes in walls. This would have gotten a great review if the instructions werent so awful. For something seemingly easy, this took me waaaayyy longer than it should have to put together and get on the wall correctly. I understand that these are made in China but I wish they would outsource the instructions to a native language speaker... regardless of the language. Instead the instructions are cryptic. So I seriously put this thing together multiple times. At first, the four hooks werent placed correctly and it was digging into the drywall when I used it. I realized that the lower hooks were critical and reinstalled them. However the instructions didnt make that clear. It was frustrating. So prepare to be frustrated during installation but happy once you figured it out and it's installed correctly.

I'm very happy with this. My son loves it. It is very easy to install, even though the one page instruction sheet is not very good. The fit and finish is very nice. Good quality and adjustable.

The quality of the product is nice, assembly is easy but, if you are planning to mount these to a studded wall that are 16inch or 24inch (USA standard) on center .... forget it. The spacing between the mounting holes is 46 inches. Luckily I put these on a basement wall where I had access to both sides of the wall and could add blocking to the studs so I could secure these to the wall. Good luck.

Before you ask, I spray-painted it white to blend in with the rest of my decor a bit better. I do this a lot with stuff I get. I basically keep matte black, matte white and clear coat spray cans on hand at all times. Often times things will cost more for a specific colour or they're just not available so it opens up your options a bunch. Obviously, won't be as good as powder coating but holds up well if done correctly.TL;DR- Fantastic unit. Very happy with it.- Mounted to two metal studs with toggle bolts. Very solid. I'm 190 lbs.- I added thick felt pads to the 8 contact points to help prevent scuffing of the wall.- Mounting to plywood is ideal but not entirely necessary.- For "Chin Up Mode" you don't need any reinforcement as most of the weight is carried by the hook itself.- For "Knee Up / Dip Mode" you need reinforcement where the bottom "L" meets the drywall. there is more torque in this mode and it will crush your drywall without reinforcements.I have metal studs in my basement (for some reason) so I used toggle bolts and anchored all 4 hooks into the metal studs. Each toggle bolt can hold about 250 lbs if installed correctly. I have two bolts in each stud so it'll come down to the strength of the metal stud itself, but still plenty for my weight (~200 lbs).I read in other reviews that you need to mount it to plywood. I wanted to see if it would work without this. And, indeed, in "Chin Up Mode", it actually works just fine. I added some thick felt pads to the contact points. 8 in total (4 for each "Mode"). In Chin Up Mode, most of the weight is carried on the hook itself, which is great. However, in Knee Up / Dip Mode, the hook acts as a fulcrum that a lot of the weight rotates around, causing the "L" brackets to hammer into the wall. I put about 25% of my weight on the dip bar just to test and I could immediately see the impressions being left into the dry wall. Not a great design in this regard but not impossible to fix.Although the pictures don't reflect this, my plan is to add a 3 foot widt 3/4 plywood behind the bottom hooks that come out and down from the hooks in order to be the contact points for the "L" brackets. Doing this should spread the force of the "L" brackets across a much bigger surface area and hopefully prevent any indentation of the drywall itself.I'll be painting this plywood white to match the wall and will likely use a router to rounder the corners and give it a finished, safe look.Anyway, in short, even with this shortcoming, I'm super happy with this unit, especially for the price and my mounting options. Adds 3+ new exercises to my workouts. And in COVID times, variety is great thing.
