I ordered this pickleball paddle so my wife and I can play pickleball together. The paddle is a little different than others I have used. The shape is more rounded, and it is slightly larger. Measurement of the face is approximately 10" wide x 10" long. The whole paddle is 18", with sufficient room on the grip for a two-hander.I like the size of the octagon grip. It has a good feel, not too large, not too spongy, more like a good quality hammer with a padded handle than a tennis racket.The paddle surface is very solid, with the same hardness from edge to edge, no edge binding necessary. It has a hard carbon fiber surface over a thick soft foam core.The whole surface is a sweet spot. If you contact the pickleball, it is going to move. One thing I note is that the surface is very smooth with almost no give. This is not a paddle for those who enjoy putting a great deal of spin on the pickleball.At almost 1 1/2" thick, the face of the paddle is thicker than the handle. The paddle is not a heavyweight. It is the same weight as my smaller paddle, but the balance feels just a bit forward than some. I feel this is a paddle for a power hitter. And it has a distinctive sound when it contacts the pickleball.This is a good quality racket, a little different, with a good solid swing and resounding contact.
