Come on people. Lets be real here. Seriously. Who doesn't have that hammer in the garage/shed that has the loose head on it. Come on.. Admit it. We all do.. It's OK.. You are among friends. Sit down, have a drink. Relax. Tell me about it. When you made that cabinet over the toilet, and you had to keep hitting the hammer head back on the handle.. Or that time you went camping and the hatchet handle went flying when you were splitting firewood?I am proud to say that those times are all behind me now. Why didn't i do this sooner? I can't answer that. We all come to our own decisions in our own time. Anyway, this pouch of goodness will take care of just about every type of hammer or hatchet. and... You will have a little bag of wedges for the next time this happens. Or when a friend comes over to help you put the roof on the shed, and he complains of a loose head. You can talk him down from the roof, pull this little bag out of the tool box and make that situation right. Imagine if we always lived that way. Everyone with a secure head on the handle. Just imagine.

This kit of mixed wedges will support a wide range of small and medium sized tools that hang on a wood handle. There are only two of the largest sized wedges included and I'd have loved to have 4 included (there are 4 of most others) but in any case it worked for me. I needed it to hang and old (probably 80 yr old) hammer head onto a new handle I spent time fashioning for the tool. Looked great and wedged down super tight in the end. I didn't even need to use the additional metal wedge. See photos.

Very serviceable set of wedges. The old wedge had gotten so loose it was falling out. I used a big wooden wedge with some wood glue, followed by a small metal wedge at an angle (as recommended by this or another site...cannot recall). Let the glue dry overnight and Bob's your uncle!

The wedges were smaller pieces of wood than I thought. Good for hammers, little small for axes. Still, can't complain too much for the price paid. A ruler or some kind of scale in the picture would have been nice.

Good package for the price. Wood wedges appear to be some sort of soft wood, they crack easy. I installed them with wood clue then metal wedges. So far holding up well.

Good set of wedges for hammers and the like. Do not think these will work on full size axes or even a hatchet.Nice clear straight grain on the wood wedges. Steel wedges start easily and do their job well.
