I used a floor jack under my trailer hitch to raise the back and release tension on old shackles and install new.Install with shackle cutout positioned to fit around shackle mount to avoid frame contact.Only lowers rear a little and ride is firmer. Does squeak some over speed bumps.

Absolute garbage, this does not fit a 2004 Dodge Ram as stated. Unbelievably, the shackle comes in contact with the frame under just the normal weight of the vehicle and hits any time you go over a bump. This is very dangerous as it essentially eleimnates any suspension in the rear end. Another review stated that this shackle squeaked a lot and it does, but it is probably due to this issue and not a lack of grease. I am returning them immediately. Besides the fact that this product has a flawed & dangerous design, I would advise you not to by this product due to terrible instructions that are not product specific and a huge lack of customer support.

So basically I did tons of research before buying a shackle kit. After Looking online for about 2 months I finally came to the conclusion I was going to go with Belltech because of people saying they don't squeak and you DO NOT have to put extra stuff on the shackles to prevent squeaking. Well I got them installed and before I could half a mile they started squeaking anytime I turn, exceed about 25 mph or hit any kind of bump a dreadful squeak follows. Other than that though their great they do drop the truck about 2 inches and it looks nice, and the quality of materials seems really nice, but that squeak kills it for me I can't stand it.

Easy install can’t stand the squeak removed and installed 3 times and also tried adding grease and no luck every bump or body sway they squeak is just unbearable. Will be removing and sending back.

Dodge Ram 1500....last set i installed were defective...no bolt sleeve...too long ago for a warranty (ground force).Im good now.

this item is everything i anticipated. it dropped my dodge truck by 2-3 inches and leveled out my truck. usually belltech is very expensive and it was not bad going through amazon. I'm satisfied.
