I am an avid crocheter and this is a super bulky polyester spun yarn. It is soft and very nice for your projects using a super bulky yarn. The yarn is soft and easy to work with with, there is no splitting because of the way the yarn in made there are not single strands of yarn, which also makes this a nice yarn for beginners to start with.I like the colors, the colors change very quickly so when you use it, it is more like spots then colors changing in your project. I like the softness and the ease of use. This is great for blankets and even a scarf with thick yarn or a hat. VEry soft yarn!This is a 2-roll package so enough to really get you started! Each roll is listed at 220 years of yarn. The hook size for crocheter is an 8mm hook, and it is the same for knitting (on the package). I am using a size 9 just so it is a little looser, I am sure an 8mm would work just as well.I like this yarn and am making a blanket with it, so I will be buying more!

The photos with a brighter color are more true to life but I had a hard time getting a picture with a good representation of the colors in this lovely yarn.Bernat blanket yarn is super popular but I've never used it for anything somehow! I was thrilled to get some in exchange for a review. I'm working on a small blanket with this two skein pack. Yarn is easy to work with and has a nice feel, especially for a bulky yarn. It feels super soft and almost caught me. I was surprised a 100% polyester yarn could feel so nice!I'm making the Beginner Ocean Stripes easy baby blanket from the blog A More Crafty Life. I think this yarn would work equally well for plushies, knitting with giant cables, anything you want to make on a large scale. This project is working up very quickly with such a large weight of yarn and I'm very happy with the variegated look. The color is called stormy ocean and it does remind me of the shadows and frothy waves you see on rough seas. I would definitely choose this yarn again.

This review is for the “ Bernat Blanket BB Purple Sunset Yarn - 2 Pack of 300g/10.5 oz - 100% Polyester - #6 Super Bulky - 220 Yards - Knitting/Crochetâ€The Bernat Blanket BB Purple Sunset Yarn set comes with 2 gigantic balls of 300 grams each, ( in my photo I have a rectangular tissue box sitting next to a ball) . That’s 600 g of super soft and nice yarn. Each ball runs about 220 yards, enough to make good size baby blanket. I love the color mix of blueish and purple. I can’t wait to get it done. The yarn has a chenille like feel, but it is not shedding like chenille.The current price of $24 (or $4 per 100g) is about the market mid range. Bernat is definitely the US market leader in soft yarns and the quality of their yarns does not disappoint.

WOW, these skeins of yarn are huge! I didn't expect them to come with so much yarn! I was really impressed with the size of these. These would last you for a long while. Definitely great if you are making a blanket or something larger.The yarn is really high quality and super soft. It feels luxurious. You could definitely use this to make amigurumi too and have such a soft little plushie afterwards. I love this yarn! The color is beautiful too, not a yarn color you typically see. This yarn doesn't fray when you work with it and it also doesn't hurt your fingers like acrylic yarn. Great yarn for sure, I highly recommend!

I haven’t knitted in awhile and so had to get used to knitting again. This was a great way to start up again. I forgot how wonderful it was to just relax and make a hand made gift for a loved one. This yarn was beautiful in person. I really loved the different colors. The quality was really nice and thick and a little went a long way. The knot strength was really nice and I haven’t washed it yet but it seems to be really durable. Can’t wait for the finished product!

My wife has started crocheting and knitting as a hobby and she really wanted to try the Bernat Blanket chenille yarn.The yarn is soft and easy to work with. It doesn’t shed like some of the other chenille yarns she has tried and she has not had an issue with it breaking or any knots in the yarn. The color she is using is called Weathered Wood and the smokey blue, gray and white is beautiful. She is very pleased with how her lap blanket is turning out and would recommend this product.

I absolutely love this yarn. It’s not a twist tarn, more chenille like, except it doesn’t fall apart or shed even with a LOT of manhandling. It is really soft.I like how the colorway lets me add interest to my crafts without having to change colors all the time. I tested it to see the texture using 3 modes of crafting: double crochet, rug hooking, and weaving.It is 100% polyester with Oeko-Tex 100 label, which means it has been tested for harmful substances and is certified as having passed safety tests.

A really nice amount of yarn and very soft! Easy to work with, I’m using it for Tunisian crochet and it works up quickly. I’ve ordered yarn before and received undersized skeins so this was a pleasant surprise.
