Such a great thing for a trumpet player to have. I am a freshman in college and I am majoring in Music Ed. and I have only had this accessory for a few weeks and it has worked wonders. Definitely great for your improvement. If you're looking for something to help you elevate your performing abilities I highly suggest you buy this extension. Amazon also is the best place to get it from. Good value for a name brand item as well!

My band requires to use these.I, personally, dont care for them but they do help with practicing. I REALLY wish there were more that were made of different materials other than plastic. I would gladly pay extra for one. My berp scratches my trumpet (big issue for me) and is kind of flimsy, ive seen every individual berp is different. Some work well and others not so much. Mine doesnt do well in resisting airflow but still helps when im supposed to practice a song without making noise.PLEASE make some that are more than just plastic. I promise they would sell well.

This is a wonderful invention, allowing one to buzz while holding the trumpet and playing along with the fingering, though of course, mistaken fingerings do not affect the pitch of the buzzing. My son is the trumpeter. I am using the french horn version of the BERP as I have decided to learn french horn after playing trombone for many years. I find that after buzzing through an exercise using the BERP, my sound on the french horn gets bigger. I guess that the BERP requires one to use a lot of air.Adolph Herseth said that he practiced buzzing on the mouthpiece daily for about an hour of his daily practice time. So if buzzing worked for him, it is probably a good idea for my son. Also, Maynard Ferguson reportedly buzzed frequently in hotel rooms prior to evening performances.

I found this item on Amazon for the cheapest price out there. It is exactly what the music stores sell but at a better price (including shipping and handling) The berp works perfect for our trumpet and it is holding up pretty good- not flimsy or cheap plastic that breaks very easily. I would recommend purchasing this if you have a beginner that is learning to play a trumpet or any other instrument that you could use a berp for. Its helped our child tremendously his first year of playing. Well worth getting! Side note I recieved this quicker then waiting for the music store to restock- and I didn't have to drive to go get it, it was delivered to my house, which the music store is over an hour away round trip driving for us.

As a band director, I require all of my brass students to have one of these. We use them daily in class as part of our warmups and they are great for practicing when you can’t make a lot of noise.

Delivery itself was quick. The package comes with exercises both in Bass and Treble Clef. Clamping it on the lead pipe is a breeze. If you can't seem to figure it out there are instructions. The thing that makes it unique is the resistance dial. It is reccomended for beginners to adjust it all the way in. It also helps you warm up quietly. Overall great product a must have if you want to develop your range quickly.
