It wasn't exactly what I hoped for but it works great.Break Down:> It was a lot thinner than I imagined.> It doesn't have any real grip on the bottom of the rug to hold it in place.

It's very flat and thin, which I imagine is necessary so thatit is flame retardant. Definitely all about the function and not big on the looks.

i dropped a burning ember on this "fireproof rug" and it melted the rubber backing to my tile. I had to scrub the tile to get the melted rubber off. I wish I could find something that is actually fireproof! and this is more fire resistant.

We use as a floor protector to put our fireplace tools and wood caddy. Our floors appreciate it very much!

I would NOT buy this rug again. Sometime or other an ember popped onto the rug and burned a hole right through it and burned the carpet underneath. Thank goodness not fire was started. It is thin and hard to vacuum and would not stay is place because it was so light weight. I ended up buying a different one that has worked out very well. Wish I had not wasted my money.

So a hot coal fell out and no the rug did not catch fire but with in a couple of seconds before I could get the ashes shovel the coal had melted a hole in it and as I tried to get the coal it rolled and melted a second spot. Not at all what I expected from the rug.

It is very nice and does the trick of what it’s meant to but the only annoying thing is it turns up no matter which way I put it. Quite annoying as it then exposes a bit of my new carpet and the fire has burnt it now.
