I got this for the garden and it was too big but it was a great price so the compromise was worth it. I did use some to start a grill and it caught fire like it should. Didn't get a bag full of dust. Lots of giant chunks of coal black peices of hardwood lump charcoal. Bag is tough as nails too. Gives food a nice flavor. plants love it when you soak it in urine all winter and then use it at the bottom of a raised bed.

Worth the money. But I can't get it too stay lit without lighter fluid. Still good. Meat taste good.

If you are seeking natural lump charcoal with large pieces, this is a good brand for you. I found some of the pieces to be too large to easily enable use in my grill. This charcoal lights well, burns hot and provides nice flavor to the food.

Did a cowboy steak indirect on the grill using these chips and the flavor was just a hint which was all we wanted. Don't need a lot just a few on both sides to get it smoking and to have the flavor of the meat shine through.

Only dissatisfied with missing oak flavor. Have to switch back to my last brand which offered much better flavor/aroma.

Really bad charcoal. Don't buy this charcoal. The size is inconsistent, from pieces that barely fit, to tiny unusable dust (pounds of it, not just a little bit). Sputters a lot, probably because it wasn't fully kiln-dried like it was supposed to be. Takes a long time to start, or it goes out, or doesn't have that proper flavor (charcoal needs to be burning at the right temp to give its best flavor). Save yourself the trouble, spend a bit more for another brand
