These low voltage mounting plates are great for the addition of my in wall speaker connectors. Solid plastic and a perfect fit.

These work fine - just what you would expect. But since the ring sits proud of the wall, you can’t always get a cover plate to sit flat to the wall. And the orange sliver showing around the edge is rather noticeable. I actually carve some drywall out if the way to get them to sit flush with wall. A thinner, stronger, smaller top and bottom lip would avoid this. As such, I end up using an old work metal receptacle box and carve less drywall top and bottom. Kind of a waste. Someone, someday will solve this …hopefully.
