I bought this to pull of the big plate that had my bush hog blades bolted down to it. I've got a 4 ft. bush hog that needed new blades and that plate that they were attached to needed to come off first. I bought the biggest puller they offered to get a wide enough spread but it was almost still to small to use. I had to turn the big jaw adjustment wheel almost all the way open just to get it on the plate. Then as I was tightening the pressure screw I had to fight the clamp from trying to lay to one side witch was a major pain. It almost wouldn't pop the plate off the splined shaft because of the clamp trying to lay to one side. I finally got it off but had to fight with the clamp as I used the impact and hammer. I needed a more ridged clamp but this one helped get the blade mounting plate off my bush hog. Before I put it back down on the splined shaft I'm going to put some Nicole based anti-seize for stainless steel on the splines on the shaft and up in the hole in the plate and on the threads on the shaft and castle nut so next time maybe I want have to fight so hard to get the blade plate off !
