This was a nice aluminum box. I intended on mounting it on the tongue of my travel trailer for a new LiFEPO4 battery I was building, but on arrival, I found that it just would not fit in the space I had available. The lid needs around 2" of space to hinge open, and this requirement meant I would have to slide the box forward, causing it to interfere with the weight-distribution hitch fittings on the trailer's A-frame. I wish there had been room, as this was a well-built box with lots of room inside.

Picture and description are accurate. As other people say in reviews the bottom doesn’t seem very sturdy but if you’re putting it in something flat that’s not a problem. The lock works and come with two keys. And if anyone else was wondering like I was this fits perfectly in the back of a Jeep tj! I wanted something I could bolt down to secure my things while I don’t have the top one which is quite often. This is perfect! The welds are ugly but will Home just fine.

Very good quality but it doesn't have handles. I need handles. So I guess I return it or install handles myself. Not sure which way to go yet but probably easier just to drill some holes and install handles I find somewhere. My guess is that returning it would just get me another one without handles.UPDATE: I emailed Better Built and they responded quickly that the newer boxes don't have handles and the photo needs to be changed. However, they are sending me handles to install myself, which is fine with me. For my purpose, locking stuff inside a van and chaining the box to the seat post supports with Kryptonite's strongest lock and chain, this box is perfect. The lid support works well and is a bonus. The lockable latch works fine.

Small and compact. I couldn't find anything smaller. The handle hits a bit but works fine.

I used it to house a hydraulic pump for my HydraLift motorcycle carrier. Cut and welded a panel in to clear brace and found that the Aluminum is part something else or made out of Beer cans, because it was very difficult to weld!

Thinnest possible aluminum they could use, not worth the money. Should sell for $50 dollars

This box looks different than the one I received, mine didn't come with handles on the ends. The aluminum is thin with the bottom very flexible. The lock was loose, and when tightened the lock didn't actually lock the lid. I could open it locked or unlocked. I had to adjust the latch on the lock so the paddle handle could not be pulled up with the lid locked. If this is the kind of boxes that are "Better Built", then this is my first, and will be my last. I can't recommend this product, poor quality for a high price.

Outside of this box looks great until you open it up and look at the welds. Definitely looks like a 10 year old welded it.
