HI. this does work. but image is only good in the middle of the FOV.. the edges are warped like coma. depends on the eypeiece you are using and the focal length of the telescope

I bought this screw-on Barlow filter because the camera adapter I use on my telescope won't fit a regular Barlow. I didn't pay much ($11.59) and didn't expect much. I tested it on arrival. It was horrible.An advantage of Barlow lenses (this is an inherent Barlow characteristic!!) is they increase an eyepiece's magnification without changing the eyepiece's eye relief (how far your eye can be away). I tested this Barlow lens on a 40mm Vixen eyepiece with 37mm of eye relief (i.e., low magnification and lots of eye relief). The eyepiece has a 40 degree apparent field of view.This Barlow did magnify, but with an eye relief of maybe 5mm (instead of 37mm).Worse, the field of view was just a tiny pinpoint, maybe ~10% of what the eyepiece delivered without the Barlow. Even with my eye flush against the eyepiece, it was difficult to keep this "pinpoint" steady. The field of view was so small, I was unable to focus the telescope to judge the Barlow's optical quality.
