I don't think it is possible to build a simpler and better inclinometer, however the bubble does bounce around when pedaling, even on a smooth road. I do like the simple design. Using something with batteries would be more of a hassle. This was a bit pricey for what you get but it works pretty well.

Easy to read, but can't tell you accuracy because that's what I bought this thing to tell me. I can only assume it is "relatively" accurate. I chose this because all the cycling computers I've read have reviewer's saying these computers are inaccurate regarding slope. This has got to be no worse. It's easy set-up, easy read, and easy on the pocket book compared to cycling computers.

I have no problem with the quality of the item. It’s just that the scale is too small to be easily visible, especially with normal vibration. And it needs to be carefully leveled to be of any use. It wasn’t worth the space it took up on my handlebars.

This product is well-designed and well-made, and should serve a rider of mountain roads very well with the ability to read +/- up to 20% grades. I'd love to see one made for rail trails though where grades rarely exceed low single digits (usually when the trail diverts briefly off the original railroad grade to go over, under or around something). A scale of +/- 5% grade would be great. The viscosity of the fluid would probably have to be increased a bit so the bubble doesn't move so quickly. The bubble barely moves on rail trails with the current +/- 20% grade scale.

The gauge is accurate and easy to mount but it is easily knocked out of adjustment. Also, turning the handlebars causes a false reading.I attached the gauge to this GoPro mount and placed on the stem instead of the handlebars:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00I2OPB9G?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

I had bought (and returned) another that one could not really read. This one (I have one of these from a previous purchase) does the job right!

Works exactly like you hoped it would. The only problem, and calling it a "problem" feels like an overstatement, is that it's relatively easy to knock out of alignment in the stand and when storing your bike, but it's equally easy to set right so it's a wash. My mechanic and people at the store were all enamored with it. Seems everyone would prefer realtime grade readings rather than the old data of what that hill was 20 meters ago.

Much better than a GPS gradient reading or other error-prone electronic meters. Does have a time lag between gradient change and stabilized reading (to be expected). Easy to read too.
