This is perfect for what I needed it for. It's easy to install and took all but 10 minutes to install it. It is big enough to carry a tall clipboard, purse, drinks, and food and it's easy to ride with. Great product.

For the past several years, I've been using a heavy-duty single pannier with (I think) a 27L capacity. It's been very useful, but I wanted to switch to a dual system because I've started carrying my dog in the pannier, and with a dog inside, there's no room for anything else. The main compartment of these panniers, unfortunately, isn't quite big enough for my 20-lb dog. In a quick trial, he stuck too far out the top and started pulling the panniers sideways due to his weight. I think these may need to be carefully balanced for best results. My first thought was the plastic support panel on the inside would not be strong enough to prevent the pannier from collapsing into the side of the wheel. It's very light and flexible. I took these panniers on a quick grocery run, where I carried my purse in one side and a cabbage, bag of candy, and two blocks of cream cheese in the other. During my brief 2-mile ride home, I didn't have any issues with the panniers collapsing, but they were also not loaded nearly to capacity. I also strapped a 12-can case of soda to the rack, which the panniers made much more challenging than usual. Because they cover the entire top and sides of the rack, I had to get creative about where to anchor my bungee cord and wasn't able to make the strapping as secure as I'd prefer. This may be less challenging with two smaller bungees (one for front and back) rather than one big one.In terms of capacity, they do boast more than my big pannier, but because the capacity is divided up into several small compartments, they are less versatile and unable to carry big things.Installing them means a process of threading four buckles through the top of the rack and using an elastic clip to hold down the sides. I actually felt that the elastic was too long and therefore too loose and likely to come free by accident, but that's easily fixable by putting a knot in the elastic to shorten it. They do not have a quick-release mechanism, so I don't think it's very practical to remove them every time you reach your destination. These seem better suited for permanent installation, which means, if you're a bike commuter or errand-runner, you must carry additional bags with you.I left them outside yesterday in a brief rain squall, with my jacket still inside. When I came back for it later, it was still dry. So even without the waterproof cover, they have thus far done fine at keeping my stuff protected from the elements.Bottom line, I think if permanently installed panniers with a lot of organizing options fit your lifestyle, these ones would make a good starter pack. They seem to be worth the price ($28.99). But if you need to carry large objects and animals, don't want to spend a lot of time loading and unloading, and prefer to bring your panniers with you, then I'd suggest investing in heavier-duty ones with a quick release.

These are great panniers for under $30, but they have one major safety issue to be aware of.One reviewer said their dog (!) had a hard time fitting in the bag. So I feel compelled to say: don't put your dog (or lizard, or hamster) in this. The main reason I think this is a terrible idea is that the bag anchors with an elastic hook strap. What happens if you put something heavy and wiggly in a bag that's held down with an elastic hook? It runs a high risk of unhooking. What happens if a strand of heavy duty elastic cord and a metal hook dangles into your spokes and grabs them as you're pedaling at 15mph? Your wheel stops, and you stop (and hopefully don't topple onto your pet)! The elastic + hook mechanism should be treated with extreme care during installation. I want a much more positive connection than this with the frame of my bike rack. I realize this design facilitates easy removal, but it also poses the safety issue of having elastic near your spokes. When (not if) the elastic stretches and lengthens, you are in for a bad surprise if it's not being checked constantly.I'd suggest a different type of connection at this point, like velcro. It would not be a bad idea to reinforce this point with small velcro cable ties or zipties. Many panniers use strong velcro at this point, and that's a much better design in my opinion.

I have been looking for a double bike pannier set like this for a long time. I had seen a number of single-sided bags, but I really wanted the double bags that go on both sides of the bike rack to balance out the bike. I also wanted the bags to have a large capacity, and at 34-liters, these bags really fit the bill! These panniers are big and roomy inside and I can fit a lot of stuff in there.I can ride to the store and bring back a bunch of groceries, or pack up a picnic and beach toys to take to the beach, or even load up a tent and some gear to bike out into the wilderness for camping! If I pack smart, I can really fit a lot in these panniers! These would also be great for people who commute to work or school. The panniers were so easy to strap onto my back tire bike rack. They feel very secure, especially with the extra bungee cords to tie them down, and they don’t shift around while I’m riding or if the wind picks up (especially if they are loaded with stuff). There is a rigid panel on the tire side of each bag to keep it away from the back tire. The handle on top makes it easy to carry them once taken off the bike.I think they look very classy, too - nice smooth lines, with double rows of reflective tape around them. Probably the best-looking bike panniers I’ve ever seen. The super durable 600D oxford fabric is waterproof and even the zippers are covered over so water doesn’t enter. Plus, a waterproof cover is provided in case it’s pouring rain – or to use for storing them so they don’t get dusty. Everything about this set is really nice quality. I highly recommend them!
