This review is for Gear Hugger Bike Wash Spray (32 oz, Pack of 1) – Eco-Friendly Bike Cleaner Spray, Bike Wash Soap with Natural Saponins & Eucalyptus – Safe for All Bikes, Anti Corrosion Spray. So my standard for a bike spray wash is pretty simple: Does it work as an "apartment dweller's winter commute wash"?That means it needs to get corrosive grime off a bike quickly, without scrubbing, and with minimal rinsing. Using a garden hose isn't an option for most apartment dwellers, much less in the winter, and scrubbing indoors means grime getting flicked everywhere.I was nervous after reading the instructions. Talk of "Eco-friendly", "biodegradable" and "use a soft brush" doesn't sound like what I want. I want strong cleaners that don't care about anything other than getting the job done. I was wrong.I didn't label my photos, but I think they speak for themselves. Which are "before" photos and which are "after" photos should be pretty obvious. My bike wasn't absolutely filthy, as it's been a mild winter here, but there was definitely a good week's worth of commute grime on it. I sprayed the bike down, waited about 30 seconds (because I'm impatient) and then rinsed the bike with a pump sprayer and less than 1 quart of water. The chain and cassette? Good but not perfect. Then again, that's what one should expect w/o a dedicated degreaser and/or scrubbing. The paint? Great. The effort? Minimal. The water usage? Near zero.I strongly believe that had I actually used a brush, a towel, or more than 5 minutes of time, I could have gotten my bike perfect. The fact it smells good? Icing on the cake.

The Gear Hugger Bike Wash Spray is an eco-friendly and biodegradable cleaner designed specifically for bikes. It comes in a large 32-oz bottle, making it suitable for regular use. The spray has a citrusy scent and is easy to use, with a convenient sprayer that allows for adjustable stream or spray settings. The product's primary function is to clean dirt, grime, and corrosion from bike surfaces without causing harm to the environment. It can be used on various parts of the bike, including paint, chains, and cassettes. While it may not be as effective as dedicated degreasers and scrubbing methods, it works well with a microfiber cloth to remove dirt and grime easily. The bottle itself is sturdy and has a ziploc-style bag for shipping. The product's price point of $14.95 may seem high to some users, but it's considered an acceptable cost considering its eco-friendly features and effectiveness in cleaning bike surfaces. Overall, the Gear Hugger Bike Wash Spray is a convenient and easy-to-use cleaner that can bring back shine to bikes while being gentle on the environment.

I recently tried the Gear Hugger Bike Wash Spray on my road bike after a rainy city ride. The 32 oz bottle has a pleasant citrus and eucalyptus scent that made cleaning less of a chore. When my bike was caked with dirt, I lazily sprayed this cleaner, wiped it down with some paper towels and a bit of water without any real scrubbing effort. It did remove most of the grime, which impressed me. That said, I couldn't help but wonder if I could have achieved similar results with simple dish soap and water at a fraction of the cost. It works, but doesn't feel revolutionary.Pros:• Delightful eucalyptus/citrus scent• Effectively cleans without heavy scrubbing• Eco-friendly ingredients are gentle on bike componentsCons:• Performs similarly to basic dish soap and water• Price point seems high for the results• Requires additional water for best cleaning

I am notoriously lazy about washing my bike beyond rinsing it off when I get home when I ride in the rain. Having an easy to use bike spray along with a washing kit I also got from here (B0DQL29VWW) makes me a bit less lazy because it makes it so easy. Either lean your bike up against a wall or if you're feeling less lazy put it on the maintenance stand and then rise with water if it is super dirty/muddy, spray with this and let sit for a while, then scrub with a brush from your cleaning set, rinse with the hose, dry and lube your chain if you are feeling ambitious.I like that it is non-toxic/eco-friendly so it isn't going to cause any rust or corrosion on your bike, it doesn't require a ton of scrubbing after you let it sit, and it is easy to wash away. You buy special soap to wash your car/dishes/clothes, might as well for your expensive bike too!

I got exactly what I expected and more. The products looks and feels exactly like you would expect any natural cleaner to feel like, with that "citrusy citronella" thing going on. The bottle does have that ability to adjust spray or stream (why is that so hard to find these days) but the head freely spins like it's not fully connected, not sure why. If it held its place this would be perfect! Also, the quantity of what you get here is fantastic. You will be using quite a bit of it as it is - a pretty large volume comes out every time you spray it.Overall, I love the quantity and the quality of the product. I just really wish the spray head stayed in one place.

I was skeptical about bike cleaners, but this one far exceeded my expectations. My son's bike was very dirty, so I sprayed the cleaner, waited for 2-3 minutes, and washed the bike with a regular garden hose. Now it's almost like nee - see the result in the attached photo! In addition to its excellent cleaning power, this is a non-toxic, biodegradable cleaner, which I appreciate. The only downside is the sprayer—the top black cover fell off almost immediately. Fortunately, it doesn’t affect usability.
