This is one of those "I wish I had that with me" devices. The manufacturing is above average. The coax is marked but too tiny for my old eyes to read. The antenna is basically two rubber ducks mounted as a dipole configuration. No doubt it has a serious loss on receive, but with relatively high power transmitters for police and fire local transmitters or the local repeater, its still good enough for most scanners. This is not a DX antenna. Its a simple quick monitoring antenna you can stick on your bookshelf and hear local signals. If that's what you need this is a great answer. It's small enough to hide almost anywhere, like the back of the book case or on a car window, and easy to polarize vertically or horizontally. I will add several of these to the shack for local monitoring.

While I can get ‘some’ frequencies with this antenna, it certainly is not big enough to capture very many signals unless they are close.

I purchased 5 different BNC antenna's for my scanner and got this one for my car, but the reception strength is not very clear. It picks up the local frequencies but has a lot of static. Overall it does get signal just not the best strength. For the price its not bad.

I can't believe it, but this little antenna picks up as good as the one I had on the roof of my truck. It doesn't matter which way I'm heading,it receives great!!!

it's a small antenna, is it like 5-6" max? It's small so that threw me off, i thought looking at picture it was a bigger antenna. The cable length is 8-10' i think? and has a double stick tape to stick high on a window. The end is a BNC type male. I tried it on a bearcat 15x with pre-programmed channels and mainly listen to airport departures and arrivals, but they came in clear and i'm about 6-7 miles from the airport. So a little surprised this little antenna does work and was a decent price.

Bought the antenna for a ham radio. Works better than the one that came with radio, louder and clearer! Good reception at wide range of frequency, every one I tried (20 to 3000 MHZ) which is great compared to 10 other antennas I tried (rabbit ears, HD tv power ant., mag&electric loop, telescopic and portable).
