I've purchased a variety of window fans over the years, and finally decided to do some research (on Amazon) to find one that was quiet and had great features. I've had this fan over a month now and it's more than I could have asked for! I LOVE that the fan is easily reversible (at the press of a button), so when it's hot I can have air blowing in, when it's cold I can have the fan blowing the air out, or if I want to "exchange" the air in my room, simply press the button one more time and one fan blows out while the other one blows in! Also has a handy thermostat feature, so if the room gets hot the fan turns on, and when it cools down too cool, the fan turns off. And most importantly of all, this fan is QUIET! Haven't heard any rattles or other sounds, just the hum of the fan blades. I've only had it a month now, but looking forward to a long-term relationship with this fan!

I bought this fan last year, and now I am about to order two more for when this one gives out ... seems like companies always quit making things that I really like, and I don't ever want to be without a fan similar to this one.I use this fan in the upper part of a double-hung window between my sun porch and a bedroom, to help pull the warmed air from the sun porch into the rest of the house during the fall, winter and early spring. I also open a lower window between the sun porch and the living room, to allow the cooler air in the house to be funneled into the sun porch and warmed before being pulled back into the house. Although not very noisy, the fan is quite strong. I can stand a good 20 feet in front of it and feel the air blowing in my face. By closing and opening certain interior doors, the warmed air circulates through most of the house; this does not happen when I rely solely on convection by opening the same windows and closing the same doors but not using the fan.I have never used the fan to pull outside air into the house,but I assume it would work just as well for that application.

I live in the SF Bay Area (east bay) in a home with no AC. There are usually only a few weeks or so where it is crazy hot outside so I get this fan for days where a breeze will better control the indoor temperature (80 degrees or below).Good:- easy setup- versatile controls (in, out, in and out functions)- pretty darn quiet- remote works well (but unless you remember what the lights mean from afar it's basically only good for on/off use)- fits in window verticallyNeutral:- Taking into account it is a quiet fan I still expected more power from the fan based on other reviews. I'm not pissed about it or planning to return it, but I'm a little disappointed.- There are two extension pieces to make this fan reach maximum length. The first piece is solid and slides into place. It's the extender piece that looks like an accordion that I dislike. It technically does the job, but barely. It's too flimsy and doesn't make a very good seal.If it were stronger it'd be five stars easy. I give it four stars and recommend this fan for anyone that doesn't need a super strong window fan and likes to have cool features.

I purchased this fan to help combat the heat in the dead of summer and am very pleased!Pros:The fan has many functions that allow it to suit many needs.There is an internal thermostat that can be used for an automatic shutoff.The fans have multiple modes to fit every occasion.The expandable lining on the edge makes a snug fit wit many window sizes.Cons:None that I can think of, this fan incorporated all the functions I would look for in a window fan!I use the fan at night when the cool air can be blown into the house and cool things down from the day. For this purpose I LOVE the internal thermostat! I can go to bed and wake up knowing that the fan will shut off if the temperature in the house gets to a certain point; this has prevented many nights of waking up cold. Also, the reversible feature of the fan blades has proven useful in the kitchen because I can use the outward flow of air to pull heat and smells from the kitchen.

I originally loved this fan. Before one year, it stopped working. I researched and finally realized I was not going to take the fan apart. I sent off a letter to Bionaire and they were so responsive. Advised they were sorry and would refund my money. They checked address twice. I have lived at same address for many, many years. Guess what, still waiting for the "check is in the mail." Hilarious. I email them now almost weekly telling them i'm waiting for that check for $75. they are the ones who volunteered to refund me. i was just hoping for a fix or a new fan. still waiting........

I was looking for something to replace my cheap, noisy box fan for my window, and I am very pleased with this window fan.It's very quiet, even on its highest speed, without affecting its performance. If I put my box fan on its highest speed it was like sleeping with a jet engine in the room. This is merely a low hum.The temperature gauge works fine, despite all the reviews I've read to the contrary. I just leave mine on all the time anyway, but I did test it for a few nights and it would shut off once it got to the desired temperature, and start back up when it got hotter, which is fantastic.The remote control is also a luxury. I can change the speed without having to get out of bed. I am very spoiled.

I'd tried everything to deal with the summer heat in my bedroom... ceiling fan helped a bit, floor stand fan helped a bit but was noisy and got in the way, and a portable AC I tried was just no match for the heat and was also in the way. But this window fan helps more than anything else I've tried, especially for the nighttime and early mornings.
