Product Description

Black Widow Aluminum Dirt Bike Carrier with Extra-Long Ramp

AMC-400L

Loading and transporting your bike is a snap with the Black Widow Aluminum Motorcycle Carrier. This carrier features an extra-long 6' ramp, making it ideal for higher vehicles or simply for easier loading with a more gradual slope. The ramp can be used on either side of the carrier and conveniently stores flat on the carrier when not in use.

The high-strength aluminum carrier combined with the powder-coated steel hitch mount makes this carrier durable, yet easy to handle, while the anti-tilt device keeps it stable during transport. Additionally, a spacer bar adapter is included to accommodate youth 50-80cc dirt bikes.

Tie-down straps are sold separately.

Usage Guidelines

Please note, hitch-mounted motorcycle carriers are not recommended for use on tow-behind trailers including 5th wheel and camping trailers, motor-homes or RVs. Never exceed the maximum tongue rating of your trailer hitch and be aware that your hauling weight may be limited by your vehicle's suspension. Some vehicles may require air shocks or heavier springs to stiffen up the suspension and prevent sagging. Motorcycle carriers are not recommended for use with hitch adapters or extensions.

This will replace the need for my utility trailer to haul my bike. It assembled quickly & seems sturdy. So far, it's what I was needing for my lightweight dirt bike. Will also use this for my fat tire eBike instead of a bike rack.

Remembering old 'Reviews', I read about this, I was VERY pleasantly surprised to observe that the company has responded to and corrected past criticisms. This carrier seems to have been in production a LONG time (a decade?) and has been refined and improved with time. The carrier step welds are as good as I've seen on aluminum. Hardware is Grade 8.8. The steel post and brackets are nicely painted and coated. This is a proven, strong, lightweight design.I'm relieved (with the 'risk') I took, delighted ... and ` am not paid or connected with 'Black Widow' in any way. I wouldn't hesitate to order another ... or to recommend it to anyone else.

Overall, this seems like a good carrier for my TW200. I was pretty disappointed in the quality of the welds between the main supports and the cross braces that the bike sits on. They are not pretty, but they will likely do the job. It came with all of the hardware and pieces. The instructions were pretty straight forward and logical. With a basic socket set it can be assembled by one person. It’s awkward, but not heavy to handle when installing and removing it from the receiver on my truck. I have a 2 1/2” receiver on my Ram 2500 which requires me to use a 2 1/2” to 2” reducer since this is made for a 2” receiver. The anti-wobble accessory seems to do the job, just don’t over tighten as the steel plate the four bolts thread into isn’t very thick. I added two ratchet straps between the outside of the carrier and the tow hook rings on my receiver to assist in stabilizing the bike going down the road, not sure if they really do anything. I test drove this set up all over town for a shake down run and the anti wobble bolts did stay tight, the assembly was still solidly assembled (nothing loosened up, and all of the straps kept the bike secure.). It does bounce around an unsettling amount at times when crossing rough terrain/rail road tracks/etc. but maybe that is to be expected and nothing to worry about. I’m heading up to the Keweenaw Peninsula and hauling my T-Dub up there and back. I’m hoping this carrier will do the job and last for many years.

I tried to add photos, its on my 2019 Promaster with the 6' ramp. I loaded my KLX 230S easily, best tip I can give is for unloading--- Without my bike running I can put it in 1st and use the clutch as a brake when letting the handle out. Very happy with the fit and form.

As previously stated by others the latest fabricated carrier parts are as you would expect and appreciate. The sound welding is as good as you could expect and want for aluminum. I have many years of metal fabrication experience and appreciate good profile and welding technique. All parts were available, and all bolt holes were located exactly where required.I would recommend to the supplier or fabricator to also band the bolt on support scab plates to the main aluminum frame. They were loose and had cut the bolt bag causing parts to be possibly lost.Very happy with the easy assembly and stoutness of the assembly.

It was easy to put together, well built & easy to lift and I'm almost 74 yrs old. Slipped right in the hitch and holds my Honda Grom and XR150L Dual Sport and Ruckus very nicely, not all at once. Putting the bikes in the pick up bed on a ramp is not fun and can be awkward and dangerous. I highly recommend.

It is everything that it supposed to be. I drilled a hole through the ramp and put a bold in it because it wants to slip off. It’s really nice and light.

I purchased this to haul my Wallke H9 Ebike. It is very strong, well made and durable. It is designed for dirt bikes but is perfect for heavy Ebikes as well. I like the loading ramp feature to aid in loading the bike onto the rack. I highly recommend this product!
