I prefer silicone lubricants over messy oil based lubricants for all my metal gears, and I have been using this particular product for a while now...for garage gears, bike gears, door hinges...you name it. It stays clean (relatively) and at this price, its a bargain over buying one can at a time...esp if you do a lot of home and mechanical maintenance!

Cheaper than Walmart.Works on everything, including plastic.(Some greases, like lithium grease, are bad for plastic so you can't use them.)

I use this product to clean the hardware on the garage door opener because it was so loud making a lot of noise and it was just a great product. It cleaned it up very nicely without too much effort and my door is now quiet.

I use this stuff all the time and it works great. Only complaint, the most recent set I bought, the cans don't have enough pressure to get all the lube out. You end up with 1/4 of a can left and you can't get it out. Easily fixed by re-pressurizing the can (don't try this at home kids). Once I figured out how to do that I'll keep buying this stuff.

Blaster silicone as good or better than WD-40. Four-pack provides great value for the money.

Various brands are often very different one from another, but only frequent users are aware of the problems. Some leave a whitish haze while others seem to have too much can pressure in relation to the amount of silicone released. Others seem diluted with alcohol making them dry without the normal wet finish expectancy we usually have using silicone. It takes only one can of Blasters and you'll never use anything else. Perfect spray pressure versus the amount of silicone expelled. Lays on wet and slowly 'relaxes' to a shine with no white hazing. Buff in one direction if you are seeking very little shine and only a protective hint of gloss. Only rule of thumb to remember is to keep the can upright as much as possible. Ham handed sideways tilting of the can will leave you with no pressure as you near the bottom of can.
